how is anything a #### show? Am I mistaken....?Are you complaining about a match that has not even started? How do you infer that they are not capable?

well if they are already saying they couldn't keep the squad requests together, and people who are carpooling have different shoot/work sched's that amounts to a shjt show to me. the fact that its a 30-40 min drive each way makes a minor headache into a major pain.

should they buy a hotel for you Mike? You r going to get as much respect as you give.

no thanks, no Marriotts in the area.
so pointing out a logistical nightmare for competitors is being disrespectful? is there a plethora of car rental places near the hotels/range. since its a 3 hour drive back to where I pic mine up if we have to get another car due to the work sched. looking at the stage diagrams we have plates that when knocked down show a paper target. if its the same design as the ones from the frederickton nats we are going to be in for some fun. those were a poor design that screwed over a few shooters, if the design has been tweeked great, if not, why use them. I really hope im mistaken and they are a different/better setup but not holding my breath. I would love for you to be able to say "I toad a so" after the match but from the info im seeing right now it doesn't look that way

Not speaking for this match, but speaking as someone who has done the scheduling for a lot of large matches: expect the shoot/work list to be available at registration/checkin.

The number of last minute changes is such that publishing the list early causes more problems for the match directors than it fixes for the competitors. It's easy to rearrange a schedule that has not yet been published. Once it's out, it takes a HUGE amount of effort to switch people around.

As an example, for the IPSC Alberta provincials that ended two days ago, I created the first squad list on June 12th, but had 9 revisions after that due to competitor's changes. That's not 9 out of 161 registered shooters, that's 9 entire sets of changes to the squad schedule.

I'd recommend everyone simply plan at being at the range every day all day. Once you get to Dalhousie if it turns out you don't need to be at the range for a half day... it's simply bonus time.

Yeah so what you are saying is "dont bother planning anything on your off time as you wont know when it is until its too late." I for one need to submit my schedule to my business when I am "unavailable" as I am on call 7/24/265. AND the big AND is there is NO cell phone service at the range.

Mike, let it go. Who do you think you are?? Be bit humble. Why don't you build a range in Windsor and make a level III there so we can learn from you. Or stop going to US, where sometimes, like Barry, Il, we need to drive 45min to range, isn't that big enough inconvenience for you? I am not sure, but I believe this year Nationals are going to be one to remember and even despite that Dalhousie area is not GTA, organizers will make a great effort to make this year Nats memorable for all.

mike...referring to the work that those folks are doing as a "#### show" in my opinion is disrespectfull.
not everyone lives 15 minutes from the range. get over it. they are a small town, but are doing more work tha one can imagine. Bringing up the 2005 nationals is remedial. One stage, thathad out of spec steel...but yet presented an equal challrnge to all competitors....live in the past....others have moved on.

apparently im the only one who doesn't sugar coat things.
wrong targets, im talking about the giant plates with paper targets attached to them and no way to calibrate them. stage diagrams call for plates that make targets appear. has the design been un-buggered?
I don't care how far the staff lives from the range. they live there they have there own cars at their disposal. the people who are flying in don't. that makes total sense peter, you got a spare million I can use to buy the land and build it? smarten up. maybe i'll pray to win the lotto, that always works
PASA, we all shoot the same day and don't have to be there to work on our off day, stay in Hannibal its closer
didn't refer to their work as a shjt show, just the sched that according to euxx wont account for people traveling together

Yes: this is exactly what I'm saying. You have registered to come to our National shooting Championship.... not some filler for you to kill time between business phone calls.

I would suggest you advise your business that you are on vacation for the entire match just like the rest of us.

well if they are already saying they couldn't keep the squad requests together... snip....

Where is this info coming from? I was under the impression that complaints were occurring because the squad list was not yet published, but this complaint appears to be that it's out and people don't like it? (something doesn't add up here).

shooters from all over the country are spending their hard earned vaca time and money to go out to shoot the nats, I think its fair to want them to not be short changed, even if a lot of effort was put into it. lots of effort and hard work was put into the provincials, the match I shot the day after was WAY better and was built in a few hours. the amount and intensity of work alone doesn't equal a quality product.

Ivan I guess you must be an employee.......so let me explain it to you. When you are an owner of 7/24/365 mission critical business with SLA agreements (you know the tiny legal things that could F@%k your business) you are never really on holidays. Yes I am on holidays, but unfortunately I have not figured out how to put my customers and my business on "hold". If there is an emergency I need to be available as the buck stops with me. AND yes depending on the emergency and its time to resolution I very well may have to leave the match.......but that's not your problem......

post 169, if squading requests can not be met then, what are the chances those people are gong to have the same work time. its happened before but the range was closer to the hotels.

even if there is cell service you still might be boned, back in 2005 when we all had mike phones, the network over there wasn't updated to handle them yet. buddy had to buy a older gen phone to stay in touch with his business for the week

before anyone gets there panties in a bunch, im not blaming the match staff, ipsc Canada, ipsc high command,or the underwear gnomes for the cell towers being outdated

I was there at summerslam last year and there was none. I bought an $2000 iridium phone so I will have service so as ivan stated that I can make business deals while not shooting and skipping the patching ;)
