Were these issued with a bayonet? any thoughts on where to find the correct one [if so?]?

why?

I have a 1917 Remington, shoots really tight, but very high and very right - was hoping a bayonet would solve that.

A bayonet (or lack of ) does make a difference in groupings with most of my Mosins and M44s, often to one side or the other. I would rather adjust my sights or bullet weight than shoot/hunt with the bayonet on or extended.

The Russian practice was to carry the rifle with bayonet fixed at all times except for cleaning. Russian Army did not issue scabbards to infantry.
A fixed bayonet will affect the MPI.

Mosins, Russian ones at least, were sighted in 'bayonet fixed' - it changes the barrel harmonics, as a result, the POI is also changed.
The problem is that with all the refurbs etc, bayonets get mixed up - even when getting imported here, I sincerely doubt the guys shipping it sort through the crate looking for the correct bayonet.

So I'm "hoping" as even that is a bit of a lottery.

"...hoping a bayonet would..." Don't be daft. A bayonet won't adjust the sights for you.

Finding a number matching one is next to impossible.
But I doubt there's a ton of varience in bayonet weights. Just get one for an M91. As long as yours is still an m91.

Desporterizer has one for sale in the EE.
