Recently got a new muzzle brake for my VZ58 however the muzzle brake is loose (half a turn).

Is this normal or should i file and fit the brake snug tight?

Thanks,

Can happen, usually the brake is screwed in all the way then backed off to allow the small spring loaded pin in the front sight base to engage the notch in the brake.

You can:
File the mating face for a snug fit
Wrap a little Teflon tape on the muzzle
Use a soft metal washer with a notch for the detent. Copper oil drain plug washers are good for this.

Good tips. Don't do what I did, which was use red loctite.

use an o ring that's what I did get one that's a little larger and will stay in there just make sure its the same diameter as the brake..

In a month we have Czech Army experimental brake coming it solves this problem. Plus it is the best they ever made for CZ 858

Mine is the same, I just left it as is...no problem with leaving it that way.
If it really bugs you, then I would suggest the spark plug washer idea.
