Markings on my SKS?

i was considering refinishing my SKS, but there are a bunch of markings on the stock, I wouldn't want to wipe out anything important or noteworthy. is there anything worth noting here? there some pictures of the rough finish on it as well, this is why i was considering refinishing it.

Arsenal inspection markings. I do not see a refurb marking on your dust cover and you didn't post a pic of the grip, so I couldn't see if it has the crossbolt in it.

This rifle may not be refurbished. If it isn't, I wouldn't refinish it.

I agree with Andurp, however if it is a non number matching gun I wouldn't worry about it too much.
I went out and bought a stock for one of my guns to refinish, that way I'll have the original stock untouched to put back on at some point.
They can be found for about $20- $30.00 usually.
 
i updated the album with handguard pics. unfortunately you have to deal with flash as I couln't take it outdoor for nice lighting. I didnt include any the first time aroundbecause there was nothing notable about the handguard, no markings other than the hand etched number. This is an all matching numbers gun.

Hate to tell you this, but I made a stupid mistake. I typed handguard instead of grip for some stupid reason. I edited it, but not soon enough. Sorry bro.

Where you grip the rifle with your trigger hand, is there a bolt through it?

Again, my bad.

If there's no bolt there then this rifle doesn't seem to be refurbished to me. I'd suggest you leave this one be as these non-refurbs are slightly more valuable than a standard refurb, and that value will only go up.

But it is your rifle.
 
Thanks for the help. I updated the album again, showing the grip, and the front sight as i said, with a "1" marking. From what I've read this means it was accurate during factory testing?

Not a problem at all.

As far as I know, this is "1" thing is disputed. I am not an expert on this particular subject, someone who is will be along shortly I'm sure.
 
I've been looking on there for a while. I can't seem to find any info on the markings on the stock. The 3 in a diamond, 10 in a diamond, 1 in a diamond, and a W? In a diamond. Other small markings like a T in a circle or a r in a circle, or the T in a triangle stamped into the metal. Or the K in a triangle on the front sight.
 
The stock appears original and unrefurbed. Im no expert but the electro pencil etching seems odd..I dont see that on my unissued 54 Tula( same yr as yours). Maybe I just missed it :)

The only place I see electro penciling in his pictures is the gas tube, which is a standard place for that on pretty much every SKS, refurb or not.
