Newly minted and proud gun owner with a few sks questions.

Considering the rarity of the yugo, I think this will be more of a show piece then anything. It will still see the range but, only with non-corrosive ammo. Considering the price I would like to get a chrome lined one for a stock transplant and any sort of optic.

I can respect that. However, you can definitely run corrosive ammo out of it, so long as you clean it after you're done. I've shot nothing but corrosive ammo out of my Yugoslavian M59/66, which has a non-chrome lined barrel, a big grenade launcher on the front of the rifle which makes attaching the supplied cleaning kit to the rifle impossible, and a more complicated gas system (shut off valve, which is a button with a very small spring and another small part.)

Using standard corrosive residue removal procedures, the bore is still like new and the gas system is fine. If you get to cleaning with hot water within an hour of shooting, you'll never have a problem.

Of course, I can respect having a show piece that you don't want to shoot corrosive out of, I have one as well, except I don't shoot it at all.

Cheers, and once again, I am jealous that you got an M59 with half a crate of ammo for $400 frickin' dollars! Why don't I find these deals? :)

Its been quoted so no point in deleting it now. It was just a joke only because the rifle is Russian and its my mail order bride.... pretty much.

It was a clever joke and I enjoyed it. I am encouraged by the moderators allowing you the freedom to speak humourously.

I would be showing myself to be very ignorant by taking offence at such, thinking it was a serious, literal simile.
