cz 858 vz 58 barrel replacement

Does anyone know where to get a replacement barrel for my cz? Looking for the non restricted 18 inch length. Would obviously like chrome lined but non would be fine for now. Any advice would be much appreciated.
 
I would suggest contacting some vendors over in the Czech republic if you can't find a barrel in Canada. Might be tough to find a NR length one over there though.

There are parts kits in the states that include the barrel, but I don't know if you would be able to export them from the US due to itar regs.

I don't think it would be that hard to setup a press to change the barrel. Only toughish part would be ensuring headspace is good. I believe it is set with the locking lugs.

ETA: just did some reading on this and guys in the states seem to have some real trouble pressing the barrels out of their receiver parts kits. On another note barrels are available south of the border. Just have to find one you can export.

Definitely trying to find something in canada rather than dealing with importing something. If that's what I gotta do then that's what ill have to do tho. Ive got the non restricted version right now but my barrel has seen better days from using that ****ing corrosive ammo and my lack of cleaning the poor thing. Read about the head space issues on the cz but haven't heard anything about the barrels being a pain to press out tho. Ill look into what they have goin on over the border. I did some research in order to turn mine into a Tabuk type. There's a guy on Youtube who uses a ten ton press. I think that part's fairly simple. Finding a barrel, it seemed like the cheapest choice was a rechambered Mosin.

I picture a huge language barrier, as well as Czech firms blowing the request off because its for one barrel rather than a quantity priced pallet of several hundred. I wish I had the money to start up a company and manufacture this stuff in Canada. Regardless, I would do what mspben says and look around in Eastern Europe... Let us know if you find anything, I would totally buy a chrome cz858 19" barrel for up to $300 plus import fees.
 
Apparently north sylva deals with importing the rifles and deals with warranty work? I emailed and pm'd to see if I can get an answer. Got my fingers crossed they'll be able to help. Soon as I get an answer ill let ya know.
 
I'll ask him, he's out of town for work. He also got the gun ceracoated, 15 mags ceracoated (the mags were bloody expensive to coat, don't bother!), and some other stuff, so I'll have to see his bill to determine how much just the barrel was...
