Ok, so now that I'm getting familiar with my pistol, with 115g I'm hitting 3" high at 10m . I'm not used to a 6'oclock hold, kinda weird. When I shoot the Kadet kit, I'm adjusted right on and like it much better.
Is a 1mm taller front going to be too much?

I do know 147's shoot way left, and a tad high. Blazer ammo.
The 115 fiocchi groups good from my gun.

"way left"? ummm.... don't take this the wrong way, but are you sure it's the ammo and not you?

I'm a decent shot with my Shadow, but last week I tried shooting my wife's (much lighter) gun and I kinda sucked. Then I tried bracing the gun on the bench and shooting again - got a fantastic group, half the mag was in one ragged hole at 8m. Tried shooting standing up and then it went back to sucking.

It's all me. :)

Haha , for sure I am no pro, and more than likely am doing something wrong. However I dumped 3 mags of 147 left of target, then immediately shot 200 rounds of 115's with no left right problems. I know it effects rifle, but with that its 100- 650 yards ( my max )

At pistol range don't know for sure. If bullet weight effects vertical POI, it should be able to effect horizontal as well???
Way left was like 4" left. Wish I took a picture of that target.
I will post my 115grain target when I get home from work.

You could always get adjustable sights.

Ya, thought about that too. ( If i keep the fiber optic front )I think I will order some trituim shadow sights though, front and back matched set. But need to order the right size front. Factory is 5.5. Just don't want to buy the 5.5, 6 and 6.5 if I can help it, they are pricey.

Sorry leadhammer but with pistols the bullet weight only affects elevation. If the gun shot left then it was something you were doing or something related to how you hold the gun.

On my own Shadow 115's tend to hit a hair low. Not much, maybe 1.5 inches at 15 yards. 124's hit pretty much right to the POA and 147's tend to hit a little high. So I find it a bit odd that you're getting 115's to print high.

When you hold the fiber dot in the rear sight you're still lining up the top of the black frame around the red fiber with the top of the rear notch, right? You're not lining up the red fiber with the corners of the rear notch?

Yep, that's how my sights are alligned. Flat accross the top. Since the 147's were my first shots, I now assume that I simply did something wrong with my grip for the first few mags.
Thanks for the tips everyone, I will double check EverthinG and take notes next time at the range.

10m away, 3" dot. Aiming point with sights flat across the top, right at the bottom of the orange dot. First picture is 1 mag, 2nd pic same target with 3 mags into it. Got a bit wobbly since I already had shot 150 rounds.

That's not bad at all for 10 meters. So the sideways excursion is likely due to you doing something different for a little while.

It also suggests that there's something wacky with your sights after all. Like I say, 115's should shoot an inch or two lower than POA at 10 while 124's should shoot spot on with half the bullet hole above the top of the front sight and half below. So it would appear that your gun got past the factory types with a shorter than desirable front sight.

Thanks for the kind words, I think I'm doing ok as I only have shot about 500 rounds ever with a handgun. (400 with the shadow) I'm gonna set up and shoot say 5 115, 5 124, and 5 147 grain at the same target and post results. ( make sure I warm up good this time as well )
I wonder if I use some tape on the front sight to mimic a 1mm taller front, and see what kind of difference it makes. Probable need to redo it after every shot.

Think in terms of legs of two right triangles with the same angles, but different sizes. The tangents we are concerned with are as follows:

Change in sight height/sight radius = Change in POI/distance to target

Therefore:
(Change in sight height * distance to target)/sight radius = Change in POI

So, assuming a sight radius of about 6-3/4" (171.5mm), a 1mm taller front sight, and a distance of 10m the change in POI downward will be:

1*10,000/171.5 = 58.3mm

The same math can be used for windage adjustments.

That is a superb idea to find out how much taller a sight you should get. Here's a hint for you to use with this test. Layer up some electrical tape to build up to about 1mm thick or a layer or two more. Now slice this "lasagna" into a strip as wide as your front sight and as long as the overall fiber carrier. Stick it in place and with a knife handy you should be able to "shorten it a layer or two at a time until you get the right spacing for the ammo you're shooting.

Hey, in prep for this watch the following videos to double check your hand positioning; Testing the sight won't do you any good if you're not using the grip position and style that you'll eventually use the most with this gun during matches...... You ARE going to get into some IPSC or IDPA or Steel Challenge fun at some point AREN'T YOU? ? ? ? :D

PS; I'm going to shamelessly steal your stacked up tape idea for the next gun I find that needs the same trick.... :D

Sounds about right.
I noticed on a Glock site, they claim you should sight in at 25yards. Depending on the sight radius, a 0.20" adjustment = 2-3" at 25 yards.
CZ sells a 6.0 and a 6.5 front, so a 0.019" and a 0.039" change is possible. Trouble is I was shooting at 11yards, but looks like I would need the 6.0 front then, or a .5" taller sight according to Glock. Your math looks better to me. But is that equal 5.75" at 25 meters?

Good idea with electrical tape, use white or red tape though. I have been watching Todd Jarrett and Shannon Smith vids every other day. It helped tremendously so far. Working on putting my thumbs somewhere is my focus right now.
Already running the VZ grips and like them so far.
