Hey guys,

I have not seen a Mini 14 for sale in Canada for months, I know Ruger is backed up but they seem to send 10/22's out periodically, does anybody know when, and or where I could find one of these firearms?

Thank you

Where you are matters.
Epp's is listing a Target at $899.00. If you want a Mini-14 that'd be the one to buy. Standard models are over-priced and grossly inaccurate.

I know the older 180 and 190 series are crap once they warm up but i have a 580 series and it is deadly accurate so i am not sure where you get your info from??

yeah im pretty set on a Mini regardless of accuracy, except i dont want the target version, i want a stainless/synthetic ranch rifle, however i doubt ill find one in Canada any time soon

580 series is a different beast all together...99% of the people telling you they are crap have never shot one or did so in the 80s and 90s...most people (just like highschool teenie boppers) like to spread internet rumors and have no facts or first hand knowledge to back it up.

Why is it okay for an (highly loved) AK or an SKS to be "inaccurate" but as soon as something shoots .223 it MUST shoot under 1 MOA or its garbage?

For the price point, for being a semi auto...for going bang EVERY time its a great gun!!! If your a bench rest shooter who insists at shooting dice all day in a windless environment and at a fixed or someone who lacks the skills for using irons and the ability to shoot free hand then this rifle is NOT for you.

Get it, but lots of ammo and have fun :).

Look at his post count he must be right!?!?!?

I made the mistake of buying a target mini when I first started thinking it would perform like I wanted it too. It did not, it's a glorified over priced mini.

Not talking bad of the Mini14 platform. I've had a few 580+ series rifles and they have been more than acceptable for what they are in the accuracy department. The biggest down fall to the mini is lack of magazines and expense when you find them.

All those that say they aren't accurate are expecting too much. They are a minute of clay at 100 and that's all one can expect.

If you find 2 S/S minis let me know will ya? I've been in the same boat as you for the last few months looking for a new one.

Wow easy now, should you own firearms? I was referring to his post count not yours and was agreeing with you.

I got lucky with my Mini 14, its an older one that a previous owner paid a good sum of $$$$ to have it re-barreled with a heavy barrel for target and varmint shooting then got out of that type of shooting. So I got it for a song back in the early 90's. Its very accurate and fun to shoot!

The mini-14 is funner in the role of a plinking rifle than trying to get the best groups possible. Its nice to know once in awhile how its grouping, or how well you're shooting but, all in all, its a plinking rifle. My CSA .223 Vz 58 isn't any better in terms of accuracy to a Mini-14.
