Lee classic turret press

Bought one of these about two months ago and just got around to setting it up and using it. It replaced one of their smaller turret presses, which I have used for about 15 years to load maybe 10-12 thousand rounds. The new one is a very nice improvement over the old one. I loaded a couple of hundred rounds of 40 S&W and after I got into a rhythm it went much faster than with the old press. It is also much more solid feeling and I love not having spent primers all over the floor. There is still the bit of slop in the turret plate but I have long since learned how to handle that. All in all a good purchase and now I have a fourth hole to mount the fourth die Lee has in their premium pistol die sets.

What do you do about the play in the turret plate?

I just finished doing 200 rnds of .40 myself yesterday. It's obviously not as fast as a progressive but once you hit your stride, it can really crank out the rounds. I only shoot a few hundred a month, if that, so that turret press is perfectly suited for my needs. Use it as a single stage to deprime before cleaning and removing the indexing rod it's great for rifles too.

For the casual shooter, even slightly hard core, it's the perfect press.

The same as any other press, set the dies to compensate for the travel. I agree with Great C, it is the perfect press.
I have three Dillons and a Lee Classic Cast, If I had to make a choise and was regulated to only one press for any reason, I would keep the Lee
