It is much too slow for the 223, unless you have some weird bullets weighing over 100 grains or something and have a 26"+ barrel lol

you could fill the case to the neck and never have a pressure problem. try varget, ram or win 748 it will work much better.

I am getting into reloading for .223 and I am in the process of trying to find powder when I came across a bottle of H50BMG, and wanted to know if it was ok to use in a .223.

From all my research its very close to their Varget brand, and a lot of people like Varget in 223. So my question is, would it be safe to use in 223 in terms of pressure and what-not

Is it OK to use diesel fuel in my toyota? How about nitromethane in my Dodge? These are pretty close to gasoline aren't they? :HR:

Just for interests sake, I ran this thru Quickload:

A full case of H50BMG will propel a 55gr at around 1800fps, generating about 16000psig.

Also of note, 66% of the powder will be unburnt when expelled from the barrel.

On a serious note - please do some more "research" prior to starting your reloading career. Maybe H335/WC735 or CFE223 would be a better start for you, powder wise.......

16000 psi for the first shot....... the second one with the barrel full of unburn powder might be a little higher in prussure.........

It's not even close to Varget. Where did you find that info? BLC-2, Benchmark, TAC, CFE223,RL-7 or Varget will work though. Open an account at loaddata.com if you don't want to buy some books to do some actual research.
