I'm shooting ipsc classic division for a change this year and shooting a ruger 1911 45 and using the 8 rd tripp cobra mags with the polymer base pad. This combo works well and I've been impressed with the mags

Can someone tell me however whether the tripp mags will fit in the ipsc box? They look a bit long to me using a ruler, but I don't have access to a box and don't want to find out the hard way at a major match.

If someone uses tripp mags and knows for sure either way before I start filing on the mag bases, that would be appreciated

It depends on your gun. They usually need a little sanding on the muzzle end but the only way to tell is to put your gun in a box. Any thing else is just speculation

Tripp makes custom magazines specifically to fit in the IPSC box. They call these their "System" magazines. We have a few in stock in 10mm and 45ACP. They have another IPSC variant they call the "Corey" mag, but it's not as popular, according to Tripp.

AFAIK, we're the only Tripp dealer in Canada :)

$18 markup, it looks like it is cheaper to order in US :)

There's still a $100 limit on magazine exports. So you can only order 2 of Tripp's custom IPSC mags per order. Shipping fees start to add up.

Also, you're not comparing US prices to Canadian are you? You realize the dollar is sitting at 0.96 cents this morning. Plus, your credit card company or bank always gouges you for an extra 5% as well. So, let's call a spade a spade and say that $36.95 US magazine is really $40.60 Canadian. Plus extra shipping (and possibly multiple) fees because it's coming from the US.

Northern Republic Magazine's price of $41 a mag with possible free shipping seems reasonable to me.

and occasionally instead of your magazine package in your mailbox, your have a little note from CBSA demanding the duty/taxes be paid.

3 mags per box, its based on the wholesale value of the mag not retail (dont ask me why, but I got 3 mags per box when I ordered). Also no duty on it since it is a made in the USA product

but even still, NR mags price is what I paid per mag including shipping so I will just order from them next time I need them provided what I need is in stock. easier, quicker, canadian

Three regular mags. Two "System" or "Corey" mags.

I don't know what is the dealer price for them, but markup is probably more than I have quoted. This is why a lot of us shop in US.
