Big Game - Caribou/Moose - What Rifle Would You Use?

Just wondering, what would/do you use for hunting Caribou/Moose? Take into consideration rifle weight, bang for the $ (Under $1K), reliability, accuracy, durability etc. All in all, what is the best brand and model?
why under $1k? I use a Sauer or a Steyr mostly but the optics alone are above that budget

Here a partridge is a Ruffed Grouse. Sharptail is known as Prairie Chicken or just chicken. Neither is correct, but hey, they call whitetail deer "jumpers" here too. :D

Ya...I've had the ruffed grouse/partridge argument with family down east. The are convinced that grouse are indeed partridge and stop hunting them at the end of partridge season. I showed them, but they are "set in their ways". I let it go....

..so what do you call a partridge ?? :p

Because for a lot of people spending more then 1K on a rifle and optics, let a lone a rifle alone seems rather expensive. We all have budget constraints we're forced or choose to remain within. For 1K you can easily get yourself a very good rifle and scope combination especially in the used market.
