Do you have any arguments to refute what he's saying, or are you just going to criticize his pronunciation? There's a reason that leupold can't put "Made in the USA" on their scopes.

Usually valued opinions come from well informed folks. This man is not well informed. parts and pieces come from abroad, so?? He simply makes an observation, I guess in keeping with the title, scopes and the parts are made overseas. So what.

Tell me something we don't know.

Lenses have been outsourced in Asia for the last 50yrs. Many scopes have been fully produced and packaged in Asia using domestic brands. Think Bushnell, Tasco, Nightforce, MARCH, and Sightron

Where do you think the best optical lenses are produced? Originally parts of Europe, then Japan, now some in China, and a growing list in SE Asia.

ALL brands have parts that originate in Asia and a growing number in smaller countries like Vietnam and the Philippines. China of course is a huge supplier as is Japan.

so what?

Nikon set up a leading edge factory in the Phillipines to make all of the camera, binos and scope stuff. Their cameras and binos rank at the highest of the game.

What they are sourcing is affordable labour and lower costs of operation. The robots don't care where they are based.

Please note that "made in USA" is merely a term applied to goods with a certain domestic content. It doesn't mean that ALL is made in the land that defines USA.

You can have a Made in USA Honda and an imported Cadillac.

It's all a content rule and muddies the water substantially. Leupold has outsourced their lenses for decades.

If it's a quality optic and you want to buy it, who cares where it was made, just buy it. If you are adamant about supporting ONLY made in USA or Canada, and ONLY with 100% USA or Canadian materials, I think you are out of luck. Jerry offers much wisdom here...

This is right, not many manufacturers do everything in house anymore and the ones who do are in a separate price class. Company like Leupold who outsourced from Asia and assemble in their factories can keep a good quality control over the final products. Unfortunately some companies out there get everything done elsewhere, import and distribute and claim the big $$$$ because "They are an American Company".

If you want an eye opening experience, flip through the Brownells catalog at the AR parts.

Brownells is super pro buy USA and have made all suppliers indicate where every part is "made", at least how it can be legally listed.

have a look and you will find many "good Ole boys" companies have little parts actually made in the US of A.

Where does a lot of stuff come for the AR market?...... TAIWAN!!!

Kind of like China but different... no embargo on that little island :)

Butchers "prefer" quite badly too. His epiphany with regard to contract manufacturing, not that its news to anyone else, is a study in misrepresentation. Read what Mystic has to say and understand too that contract builders build to the specs set out by their customer. The customer, ie "Leo Polled", does not just sort through bulk bins of mass produced lenses, culling out the "unsuitables". That notion is horse####.

I'm by no means a grammar expert, especially in English, non mother tongue. To be taken seriously on something one is critiquing pronouncing the name of the company correctly is the very first thing you want to get right. I agree the implications this guys makes in the video are just all wrong.
