Mfs 7.62 x 54r, is it really non corrosive?

Just checked the gas system on my SVT yesterday. I shot MFS out of it last fall without cleaning and all is well. Anyone had problems with this ammo? The 205 grain bullets are accurate as hell in my Mosin Nagant.

??? Sarcasm ??? It is cheap, cheap compared to all but surplus, bulk or Norinco ammo. I've found the accuracy to be reasonable and as I said earlier very accurate in my Nagant.

The point of 7.62 ammo is the cheap surplus stuff that you find everywhere......

Take that out and 7.62x39 etc. are far less attractive.

For cost comparison its less expensive due to foreign dollar exchange. In the countries of its origin, its better than average commercial quality ammunition. I've shot a fair amount of MFS in SP and have gone hunting with it. At the time of purchase, I couldn't load for much cheaper than MFS brand new in the box. Comparing North American hunting loads of equal quality (federal, Win, and Remington), the MFS loads were less than half price.

This was my first outing with my 1938 Izhevsk 91/30.
I was very happy with the rifle and the MFS 185 grain FMJ.

I'm going to look into the 203 grain SP for hunting.

Cheers
