In today’s gun culture, there are many more women, a broader mix of races and a wider range of backgrounds. Instead of being a clean cut poster child of the 1950’s many gun owners are bikers or body art enthusiasts covered with tattoos. Others are fashion conscious while others still are computer nerds. The point is, our culture has changed. And, it has changed for the better. Good post. Public relations is one area where we have failed in the past. The public needs to see that we are the guy/gal next door, in the next cubicle or pumping gas up the street. Not the racist, homophobic bunch of rednecks the press has portrayed us as in the past.

People really are going to stereotype a guy who watches a kids show as a pedophile? Just like anti-gunners stereotype gun owners as psycho killers?

Seriously people, give your heads a shake! Unless you have any evidence that Harble is pedophile, your wild accusations are unfounded and unethical.

As far as I'm concerned, anyone can do whatever they want as long as its within the law, if that includes being very into a TV show, so be it. People have fought and died for that right.


Furthermore, just because their may be pedophiles out there that watched a certain TV show, that shouldn't label everyone who enjoys that show as the same. I guess if we are going to continue that trend, everyone who owns a Bushmaster AR-15 is going to be involved in a mass shooting.

This is kind of a silly statement.

As far as pony boy, well, I can't really identify, seems odd, but being fascinated and somewhat obsessed with a kid's cartoon doesn't really correlate with pedophilia. Weird, for sure, but beyond that, I'm not so sure.

Some things you should just keep to yourself.
 
I think the parallels between MLP fandom and pedophilia are rude and outrageous. One is a man that likes a show made to be enjoyed by adults and children, and written accordingly (ok, I've never seen the show, but apparently that's the case), and one is a person that victimizes children for psychological and ###ual gratification. Absolutely un-acceptable to equate the two to each other, just as it is wrong to equate homo-###uality to pedophilia. It isn't to say that it couldn't be the case, but you are basing a case to make a man out to be a monster, on his obsession with a show. Are star wars freeks to be included? GI joe? Trekkies? How about Inspector gadget? Oh wait, is it because there is no violence that it offends? So men must love violence, and women should comb dolls hair, and stay in the kitchen? BULL####.

My wife is fit, hot, and cool. She likes horses, yes, but she likes guns, stereos, hard rock, video games, and never cared for dolls. She is a strong person that never cared for the stereo type society wanted her to fit into, and she is a successful vet, and still hates barbies, and cooking. Why does Harbl have to fit your stereo type? Now I know Harbl doesn't need me to fight his battles, he's quite capable, and frankly, probably laughs his head off at the discomfort some of you have over his Bronie BS, but give it a break already, so he likes MLP, who cares? Now I don't agree with Harbl on some things, and that's fine, but I sure as hell wouldn't accuse any of you of being a pedo without evidence of it, and I think the sensible thing to do, for a thinking gentleman, is to edit such comments out voluntarily.

If it turns out anyone is a pedo, I will lead the mob to their door with a torch, but until then, chill the f#ck out already. If you go on statistics, they are already taking care of your kids, and you think they are outstanding people, with no sign of their inner monster. After all, why would they want to look like freaks, better that they look like coaches, priests, entertainers and counselors...

Personally I don't care for MLP (my daughters and *gasp* my SON love the show), but to each his own. It does have some clever humour in it... guys who hate on it for being '###' or inferring it's only enjoyed by pedos... let's get serious... if you don't like it, don't watch it! Inferring the guy is a danger to children? It's pretty childish.

I don't agree with everything Harbl has to say but I appreciate his humour and quirkiness he brings to this forum. It is refreshing to see someone comfortable enough with himself to put things out there and not give a damn what the mainstream thinks. Kind of like a microcosm of how gun owners fly against the prevailing so-called "norms".

I agree, there is no coorliation between childrens cartoons and Pedophilia and the mention of it at the sign of MLP on a set of 1911 grips is outragous!
 
I took some MLP's to the range... they made great targets. My daughter watches the show. Its not a terrible thing to have to watch with your daughter, but I sure as heck wont be watching it by myself. However, my sister in law told me theres a whole group at her high school who are obsessed with it. Guys and girls... weird... IMO yes. But thats just my opinion. I have no reason to believe any of them are pedos or bad people in any way. Heck, look at pokemon, power rangers, ninja turtles, etc etc... all made for kids and obsessed over by adults.

I would never put clear grips on my 1911 with pictures under them... I think its silly... but if someone beside me at the range had them, I wouldnt be upset at all or feel uncomfortable around him or her. More tolerance for the good guys and more action against the bad guys... thats what we need. Not the other way around. Think about it this way, every second you spend accusing an innocent dude with a wierd interest of being a child molester is another second you do nothing to actually help prevent kids from being molested by REAL child molesters. If you want to get all loud and active, do it somewhere it will actually help.
 
There is plenty of stuff out there that is 100% legal and you have every right to do it.

If it pegs the ever-loving #### out of my creep meter, I'm still not letting you near my kids. And while an install of children's show 1911 grips doesn't specifically cause a reaction for me, the stuff mentioned in JeffCarr88's post pegged my meter so hard that I assume I'll need to have it recalibrated.


Sometimes I am really glad this forum is under constant scrutiny by LE.
 
I love them harbl! You would be surprised how many Little Pony characters are being made into morale patches and other items. At SHOT this year they were the first to be snapped up.

Clever, very clever. Hey here's a question, if the photo/picture is installed under the clear grip, is there some sort of seal to keep the photo from deteriorating over time? Or do you need to replace if it gets oil/water/humidity in it?
