Should i sell a couple pump guns and buy a semi??

My 930 runs all the cheap stuff with zero problems. I had one bad with it but that was my own fault. After putting in a side saddle I over tightened the bolts, a little tweak and everything was resolved. Great value for the money. I have the tactical model with 18.5" barrel. Used to have the home defence/field combo that came with two barrels and some chokes. The only problem with 930 right now is trying to find one. It's been months since I've seen what for sale at a dealer

I don't have thousands of rounds through my Hatsan MPA TS
( the latest version with the collapsible stock)
But I've out quite a bunch through it in a short
Amount of time.

First off; it's not a Benelli M-4... It's only 80-85% as good. It's also
Less than 1/4 the cost of the Benelli.

I think it's a heck of a shotgun for the price. Yes, it's a
"Turkish knockoff"...Turkey makes a lot of weapons for a lot of
"Western" companies for a couple of reasons; they're highly skilled...as good or better than many other Western companies, and
Second, they can do a great job, cheaper. They make "inexpensive " guns, not "cheap" ones.

Take a look; you may be quite surprised

Does your Hatsan run cheap low brass skeet shot or only full power shells ? My friend has a Hatsan MPA im going to try out tomorrow , he was saying something about how his does not run cheap low brass shells very well?

Just talked to another hatsan owner and he said it just needs to be broken in a bit! He had the sam issue for the first little while! And now it will gobble up anything! Haha

I was told the Benelli will cycle everything high brass or low ? And i know the Remington Versamax will too ,, sounds like the MPA does not.. does the Moss 930? Thats a huge deal for me that it can run cheap skeet shot ....

All my shells that I use is all low brass. All 3 semis(M4 930 MP-A) that I own use that same low brass.

They are mostly brass. Rarely use alu becuz they tend to stick in the winter time.

Some have said here that their MP-A has probs cycling low end ammo.

I may have been lucky ? My round count for the MP-A is well over 5000 rounds.

ANd heres the kicker the rounds I use are reloads.

Low velocity at 1150 fps. THats being used effectivly knocking down steel plate @ 8-22 yrds away with any of my semis autos.

the red and green shells are #4 shot @1150fps ....

The grey shells are custom made 1oz. slugs at the cost of .28 cents per round !!! To bad I dont hunt giant komodo dragons or squirrels. But since its so cheep to make slugs - I target shoot at paper....lol.
ANd yes the slugs are at also 1150fps and they cycle all three semis...

My Hatsan eats anything I feed it too. I've never had any issue with reduced recoil rounds, low brass rounds...I stuff it in the magazine, it shoots it without issue

The M4 on the first 100 shells needed strong loads to cycled, now it will cycle with the weakest cheapest load available, many skeet runs and on the last 1000 shells, not a single malfunction... JP.

Mine runs the Remington skeet shells perfectly fine, $65 buck for a case of 250 rounds.

Took the mpa ts out again today and it seems its broken in now! No problem running anything!! I'm quite impressed with it so far!

I dont think so? dont see why ,i have seen a few short M4s in the pic thread ? Does barrel length matter for a semi auto shotgun to be non restricted? or just overall length like pumps? I will send you a PM if i decide to sell that one , likely i will sell the 500 and keep the 590.

semi-auto shotguns / rifles are required to have an 18.5'' barrel or greater-as well as a minimum OAL-unless something has changed very recently...

isnt the short m4 Prohib? you can always sell me the persuader.

Thats only to meet Non-retricted status and not restricted by name. It can be less in berrel length and OAL and be restricted only, not prohib.

Keep the 590A1 for sure. Then sell most or all the rest and get the M4. If you have a fiend with an MPA, try it. Then see if you know someone with an M4 and try that. You'll find they aren't even close. Heck, just go to a gun store and handle them both. You'll understand. The MPA is an inexpensive semi that is ok, but it isn't even in the same league as the M4.

The gun would be for fun / home defense / bear and cougar defense .. I have always wanted a Benelli m4 , is there a 14.5 inch barrel version ?

For animal defense you need the non-restricted 18.5" M4, since the 14" is range-only.

I'd keep the 590A1 -- a true hall of famer, best of the old-school pumps along with the 870 Police -- and it shares the MIL distinction along with your M4.

If the purpose is fun, and home/ bear defense, maybe also check out the KSG (14+1) and/ or the mag-fed Norc/ Grizzly... both great solutions for a SBS's small mag cap.
