I've heard stories of people hunting and killing ducks with 12 Gauge Target Loads.

Any one have any experience hunting with these or any idea what kind of game they would be effective on?

As Target loads are one of the most inexpensive shotgun shells out there, I'm curious if they would make a viable hunting load :)

Sure you can use lead shot target loads for ducks, untill you get caught by a warden, then the savings go away really fast!!!

This is a good example why I ask these questions... It's Illegal to use Targets Loads for Hunting? I honestly didn't know that. Kind of answers the initial questions pretty quick :)

Any Reason why the use of a Target load would be illegal?

Clearly I have a lot to learn. I'm glad you guys are here :)

You are not allowed lead for waterfowl hunting, non tox like steel and bismuth only. Target loads work great for crows though! Steel target loads would not be illegal, but the small shot would not penetrate adequately!

LOL, I like it :)

Thanks for the answer :) I always learn lots here, you guys are great :)

I have seen "hunters" over the years do as you say, use #7.5 lead shot in short unchoked barrels for close fly overs. As mentioned, this is illegal. In fact, you can/will be charged by a warden for even having lead shot shells in your possession while waterfowl hunting.
