Is that why you have your SkS up for sale? Also you are the first person ever to report that the hex screws walked out and that your rail almost fell of and lost zero. But then again every garage gun smith can tell from the photo's you posted that you know what you are doing.
If you like this product you can just say that you like it with out posting false and misleading statements. But then again shilling ain't easy right???
By the way Dave, I like this product but totall I feel left out that you guys were out in Langley shooting with out me ;)

Well, first of all, Bowzy isn't a shill, I don't even know him ... he seems to like the KwikRail and that's a good thing from where I sit.

And we weren't shooting in Langley, although I can understand why you might jump to that conclusion. Didn't end up shooting at all, just a nice drive past Mission and a walk in the woods ending in an impromptu interview ....

It's not the rail's fault that the SKS is such a cheap deal :)

My M14 mount was $150 - that's a budget one, some are $250 and up and I don't hear people whining about it.

That's a different brand than the one that broke my TRS, just to be clear. It's longer, so I would use that real estate to mount the optic all the way forward.

That photo is a dam good add for the full lenght rail.

It would be fine if I added a deflector ($25?), but then you need something to bolt the deflector to... like one of those cheesy NCStar receiver covers ($40?), then you have to grind it to fit your rifle...well you get the idea - the QwikRail just bolts on and has its own deflector for the same price as those 3 parts.

Thats it right there.
If someone gave you a Barrett 50BMG for FREE, it wouldn't make much sense to say "I'm not putting any scope on it because that would cost way more than I paid for the original gun"
Too bad the Russians didnt originally make a rail in the early '50s. If so, it would have been included for free along with the kit that comes with each SKS.

Calling anybody who has installed one of these!:

I am trying to instal this rail but my rear sight is pinned, when I say pinned I mean (there is the retaining pin that holds the rear right in but mine seems to have a pin through the inside of the retaining pin) if that makes sense to anyone. I've read online that some Russian models had "pinned rear sights" as a luxury upgrade to prevent the rear sight from popping out during rough battle conditions,
Mine looks to be one of these models, any one have any insight to removing it? I don't want to wreck my all matching # never issues izzy.

I've tried punches trying to push the inner pin out but it won't budge, and I was beating on r pretty good.
Other than buying another sks and hoping the next one doesn't have a pinned rear sight to install this rail on I don't know what else to do.
Help plzzzzzz!

x2 I've got the EXACT same problem here..! Mine's a Russian Tula '52... got the same extra pin on 1 side only on the rear sights, and am completely stuck at what to do next as well...

Also my rear receiver pin has that extra notch sticking out... is there a trick to removing the pin for the rear receiver cover, or only option is hacksaw..?

I am considering this mount, can you think of a way to use this rail AND a tech sight rear sight? That would be perfection in my opinion.

I'm looking to use the tech sight at the rear of the top cover and this rail.

Think it could be done?

I haven't come across an easy solution for this problem on a SKS with a pinned rear sight. These pins are pressed fit, thus oversized relative to the opening they are pressed into. These are not meant to come out, EVER...however having said that, you may have to resort to drilling them out. Most of us lack the proper solid work bench, blocks etc...to prevent the rifle, rear sight from moving thus losing much of the energy required to "whack" it out. Once drilled out you should be good to go with the rest of the regular "spring compression" tricks to push down the trunions and move the rear sight leaf rearward. Hope this helps.
