Haha, I know right? weird that there were no posts for 3 whole days on this thread. Is it possible that the market is flooded with these things and just about everyone has one by now?

I was considering ordering a second combo with the possibility of selling the second pistol to make the ammo cheaper, but you hit the nail on the head, I think it's at the point where you can hardly give them away there are so many. Ah well, perhaps I'll wait till I can afford to keep both. Hopefully the combo's still on!

Well, I'm actually the reverse. I was thinking about getting a second combo because I got a pretty nice 1911A1 in my combo so I sort of want to keep it stock and mod my second one. I've been shopping around on EE for the pistol alone and folks are selling them for $250-300 on average (with the occasional $350 because he included some grips and mags). I'd say the majority are ending up selling for $250-275 though...the ones that are asking for anything more usually include extra mags, or get bumped to the top over and over again.

Yeah. I've got the one, but there are a few priorities to spend on. trip to europe in september, food, rent, wheel bearing for the car,

I have two and just told my oldest son who already has a pal that I would order another combo and give him the gun and 200 rounds to get started if he gets his rpal ! After that he has to help me reload to get more food for his little handcannon!++
+++= some one to help me reload and shoot with plus the boys are getting into the sport!
:D:cheers: WINWINWIN!

You just can't go wrong with child-labour, haha, just kidding.

Just a update on my pistol with broken ejector. CA sent me a prepaid mailing label. Either fix or replace! So I got a new 1911. Seems to be not as gritty as the first one? Don't know how it shoots as no registration yet? I'll give it some time and let the paperwork catch up? So I think I sold my first one back to CA and bought another one?? Either way how can you go wrong? Ironclad replacement guarantee for original owner and one heck of a deal. THANKS Canada Ammo!!!! I thought this thread was dead? Haven't seen it in a few days??

Yep, haven't found one better. I want to pick up another combo if I could. Who here's bought the most combos?

I bought three. One to keep in A1 configuration, one to modernize, and one as a gift to a friend who's getting his RPAL shortly.

And the 3K rounds to pew-pew-pew with of course.

Real easy to get rid of the gritty feel .
Just use a little valve lapping compound & it will smooth it right out :D

Ok sort of what I am doing, one problem,,,pew,pew,pew!?!? That's 9mm,, .45 more like,, BOOM,BOOM,BOOM! ;0)

2nd comb received today. Took longer for me to get time off work to pick it up (who has a 4 hour weekday only pick up time?! Screw you, CanPar!) than it did to purchase, transfer and ship! Definitely no more processing lag at CanAmm. And I finally got a gun pen! Too bad it broke in shipping. Just going to have to buy another combo I guess.

Evening, can someone help me out and post a link or two or good websites for grips/parts for this wonderful gun? I wish I could find thoes zombie response team grips in canada. Thanks
Placed my order today, let the reading begin!

Most of my parts for just about ANY of my firearms I get from Brownell's.

Grips can be had by the thousands on eBay... I just got yet ANOTHER set from

a small company in Costa Rica from eBay.

They were $13 plus shipping. (Another $12 - LOL)

Nice! I just returned my Can Am 1911A1 back to stock. I want to find a pair of wood grips with the classic checkered pattern, or maybe those nice "U.S." ones that came on the Sig/GSG 1911 .22lr. Took off all the parts I installed from my earlier post, and transferred some of them over to my newest acquisition - a Norc Police model I picked up from another CNGer. That Norc is also a pretty decent one, a little slide rattle, but tight barrel to bore fit, and got some awesome groupings.

I managed to swap over the Wilson Combat Match trigger as well as the Smith & Wesson Hammer/Strut assembly over to the Police model (with some additional fitting), but didn't need to use the flat Springfield mainspring housing, or the Wilson Combat beaver tail grip safety so now I have am few extras for my spare parts box (or EE, haha!).

Got some of the parts over to my Police model, but there was no need to swap over the beaver tail grip safety or flat mainspring housing. Now I have to decide whether to pawn off the parts on EE, or keep them for a future build. I tried to install the Springfield Armory mainspring housing into my GSG 1911 but it was a really tight fit and I'm not sure I can make it work.

Back to stock, now I just need a pair of wood grips. I found the wooden checkered ones marked "U.S." from Springfield Armory on Amazon, $15 per side. Not bad, but the only problem with that is that you have to order them separately and there's a risk of getting two different shades.

I found a great deal on eBay, $12.99 for Fab Defence grips, with free shipping. They came from Israel, but shipping was pretty quick. Check it out.

Can someone tell me the barrel length of the 1911 model that comes with this 1000 round deal combo? Sorry if it already in this thread but its 300+ pages and the sear) did not work for me.

Thanks,
