The only thing remotely resembling a 'service conditions' type of shoot that I'm aware of is that offered by the CDTSA.

Once a month, on a Sunday. 30 round shoot. 10 from seat but unsupported, 10 from standing, 10 supported on the berm. 100 yard targets.

I am sure the DCRA is going to step in and encourage the APRA to support the only legitimate reason for the PRAs and DCRA to have access to military ranges.................any minute now.

Having an SR program should be a requirement for a PRA to have access to military ranges, IMO. But, from there website, one gets the impression that their ranges are private and owned by them.

NSCC will be a good opportunity to bring this up with DCRA executives since some will be there. CFSAC will be an opportunity to bring it up with CF decision makers, if they are using CF ranges.

Let me guess - the APRA Fudds decided that if you don't do what we tell you than you can't exist as a club. We want you to do all the physical work to maintain the range but we have the right to veto and shut down any initiatives you might come up with.

You want to play on OUR range than you have to do what we tell you. Someone should ask if they hold the land title to the property.

Yes, its a little crazy that we travel to places like spruce grove and others to go to a 3 gun template.

I would imagine any group taking this on would be eligible for the annual prize allotment for SR that currently goes to the AFRA where they divide it amongst their full bore and f-class shooters.

That sounds about right - They used to do that with the yearly ammo allotment that was supposed to go to the service rifle group - didn't realize they did that for prizes as well.

I've only shot one so far, but ours here are held mostly on pistol ranges, although at least two of those are 50 yards. The rifle range is used for targets out to 200 yards, and you run from the rifle range to the pistol range while shooting targets along the way.

The range itself has 6 pistol bays and a 200 yard rifle range, jungle course is there, but not used in the 3gun I shot.

Most of the stages included two side by side bays, so you ran between bays shooting. Targets were placed along the side berms where safe, so there wasn't a 100 yard dash with no shooting that would give a major advantage to an athletic sprinter with no shooting ability.
