.308 Linear compensators

Okay I have been looking everywhere for a muzzle break/linear compensator. No one seems to have anything in stock. ATRS was little help as they didn't recommend the eliminator for .308 as they only recommend it for the 300's.

Is there anything out there? I just want to reduce the noise from the shooter with the short barrel.
 
Allen gun works makes one for vz rifles chambered 7.62x39, its got a metric thread which should be fine if the barrel is not already threaded.
One Shot Tactical carries them I believe.

Can you explain the science of this to me, I don't understand and want to know why this is the case?

My RFB is LOUD, much louder than nearly everything I have fired in the past and I am trying to reduce the noise that the shooter experiences, so I can enjoy the RFB more than I already do.

we will have some in 5/8 x24 we made them for the 300 black out, but no reason you cant use them on 308 win, as long as as its threaded for 5/8 x24
 
Our 5/8-24 will be out in a couple of weeks. Built on OUR proven design from the .223 and VZ/CZ series. Prices will be available in our forum soon. We will be drastically lowering our prices, so stay tuned.

The linear comp will be every bit as effective on your longer barrel as it is on a shorter one. The intent of the brake is to direct the sound downrange and is the reason whey they are more popular on the shorter barrels that tend to bark a lot more with or without a brake attached. The science behind how and why it works is no different, regardless of the length of your barrel. Although the linear brake offers some degree of recoil reduction and compensation, it by no means compares to the effectiveness of a full on side/top discharge brake. The noise reduction is the attraction, with the recoil reduction being a secondary effect.

What are you used to? Does yours currently have a brake?
While I don't recommend it I have shot my RFB without hearing protection and it wasn't all that bad. 20 shots and no ringing (first day out with it and I was so excited I forgot plugs and wasn't about to drive all the way home to get them). With hearing protection it isn't an issue at all.
While I don't understand the need I at least have to applaud your desire for a linear comp instead of a brake, that will make it very quiet for the shooter. I have no idea why guys want to put a brake on the RFB, when the gas system is set right there is already so little recoil I don't feel it is needed at all.
Maybe it's because I don't do rapid fire with mine so a quick follow up shot is not even a consideration. I aim for each shot so I don't need a second when a deer is standing broadside.

Is your barrel already threaded? Where did you get it done or where do you plan to get it done?

BTW, I have a linear from Allen Gunworks on my 12.5 inch AR and it is very well built and looks great. If you go with theirs I'm sure you will be happy.
 
I got my barrel threaded in Saskatoon at Saskatoon Gun Works. I have a flash suppressor on it now and it helps a bit. The ringing is from me letting others fire it. I try to get as many people as possible to get them out to the range and more exposure to the RFB. I typically go threw 150-200 rounds per trip with the RFB and even yesterday I took 3 people with me (2 non-shooters) to expose then to it and the KSG (150 rounds).

Everyone had a great time, and now there are 2 more people into getting thier PAL.

Recoil is not an issue really at all with this rifle.
