Frankford arsenal tumbler too weak and small for large batches. Suggestions?
I would like something bigger that has more power, so I can process large batches quickly.

It's fine to tumble smaller batches, but when I load it, it seems to work wayyyyyy slower.

I have a Lyman Turbo 1200 vibe tumbler that will do about 100 long-action cases at once, filled with walnut media. It's advertised as handling 350 pistol cases. They make one called the 2500 Magnum which they say will do 1000 pistol cases.

There are a couple threads here someplace about building a rotary style tumbler... you could make it as big as you like.

I have a rotary tumbler for SS pins. I can process 1000 223 cases at a time... Might just keep that for large batches.

The problem is that it's not convenient to use because you need to wait for brass to dry.
Cookie sheet in the oven at low temp works fine, but has a tendency to tarnish brass a bit, so I don't like that as a last step.

It's okay to clean dirty range brass in large batches, but not so much to just "fine polish" and remove lube.

I prefer to use a brass polish in a vib tumbler because (cases glide more easily into dies, and do not corrode as fast).
Fresh ss tumbled cases will tarnish really fast as they have no protection on them.

223: run in separator to remove sand and debris, then deprime, run in SS pins to clean, dry. lube, resize, remove crimp, trim, then run in corncob + polish, then reload.

Try your regular corncob media in the rotary tumbler. I use regular dry media in my Lortone and it works well. I like to put the brass and media inside a plastic bag so that the rubber barrel doesn't get too much crud buildup.

Dillon makes a huge vibratory tumbler (1,300 .38/.357 or 550 .30-06 case capacity) but it's not cheap - about $190 US.

Absolutely. A rotary tumbler can use any media that you could use in a vibratory tumbler.
