We've been getting a lot of calls lately asking if these were coming in soon... I don't know who started the rumor, but it turns out that the rumors are true: the new Remington R1 Carry 1911 pistols are here!

These are the fully upgraded Remington R1 pistols in .45ACP featuring Remington's complete reliability and carry package. Each pistol is fitted, dehorned front to back to reduce draw snags or catching, and outfitted with the features tactical and carry shooters require most -- Novak-cut tritium night sights, extended ambidextrous safety, split checkering on the cocobolo wood grips for a textured grip surface that is easy on cover garments, and a tightly checkered frame. For reliability, each has an aggressive extractor and a lowered and flared ejection port, as well as an adjustable lightweight aluminum match trigger. Make every shot count, and be sure the positive extraction will guarantee a clean feed of a follow-up shot. Each comes with two magazines, one 7-round flat base and one 8-round with baseplate. The pistol is finished in satin black oxide finish for resisting finish issues from sweat.

These R1 Carry pistols are by far one of the nicest production 1911 pistols we have seen in the store, and anyone who has looked at our inventory or come in to see our pistol cabinets knows that we love 1911s! We have had a chance to compare this to all the big names from SIG and S&W to Les Baer and Nighthawk; from Kimber to Para to Ruger... And we can say for sure that it is a truly well-built, beautiful firearm that is every bit the competition it promises to be to the established heavy hitters! It has great machining and very smooth action movement as well as a nice fit and a quality finish. Remington did a great job on these!

These are available now by clicking the image above or the following link: Remington 1911 R1 Carry only at WanstallsOnline. Of course you know that these are in stock and ready to ship since I am posting these here on CGN. :D

Cheers,
Daniel

Absolutely true -- the customs are a vcut above all production guns, a totally different animal! These stack up with all production guns, though, and come out ahead of most. And you can definitely see where Remington tried to incorporate the ideas of the 1911 masters. Remington did a great job on these new Carry R1s.

I will agree with you on that. If I was in the market for a carry size pistol I would definitely consider a remy

Nice pistol , but have to agree to much for a Remy.

The Ruger SR1911 has most of the features of this gun and is less than half the price (plus it's stainless).

The Remy looks like a nice piece but $1500 is pretty steep for what it is. At that price you're getting close to Kimber Grand Raptor territory.

What the RUGER has in value, the Remington makes up for in name. The only brand with more historical "cachet" would be Colt. If historical context carries little to no value for your choice of 1911, than that the Ruger SR1911 is, pardon the pun, a better Bang for your Buck than the R1. IMHO, $1500 is too much coin for a Remy

How about Ithaca? Singer? The historical significance of Remington and the 1911 was Remington-Rand, the typewriter manufacturer. Not Remington the firearm manufacturer...

That Remy looks like at that price a safe "QUEEN" the same as my Kimber!!! My go to guns are my $170 or is it $190 Norinco 1911's with similiar grips as the Remy. When I first saw the picture I thought it was one of my Norc's?

Of course, those brands are also iconic. But Ithaca charges even more for their 1911s and good luck trying to find a Singer for a song. For the average Joe 1911 enthusiast, Colt and Remington are most likely the two closest brands that have a historical tie and are relatively affordable.

I was only trying to point out that both Remington and Colt are definitely cashing in a bit on their brand value.
