Tried getting the right part online but for the meantime i found the exact screw size from a headlamp at my dollarama. Lol. It works for now

Mine was broken in the store when I got it at Whanstalls.....I talked to Rossi USA and they gave me some numbers and then I spoke recently with Gary at Whanstalls and he confirmed that Location Snap Shot in Quebec is now the official parts supplier for Canada. I've dealt with them for Ruger parts in the past and they are not the best comunicators unfortunately! I called them and left a message about 10 days ago about that screw and sent them an email the same day as well but I still have not gotten a reply. I will call them again tomorrow.......I'm glad that Rossi is getting some parts north of the border but I'm a bit bummed it's Snap Shot.

Thanks for that! ... Did you get a screw? Im still running the dollar store scre lol
 
I spoke with them yesterday. They have very little to no stock for the lever actions. Apparently they have revolver stuff in stock....they told me the screw was $4 and they were not sure how long it would take to get because the system won't send small amounts of parts. They need to wait until there are enough people waiting for Rossi support before Rossi will bother to ship! Could be a month or two. I'm going to order some other parts just to have spares (extractor, firing pin and other small screws)if the prices are reasonable.
They told me a smaller lever is about $75 but it would need to be fitted by them say 2.5hours at $65/hour.
 
Just wanted to add my latest load here:
330GR Beartooth WFN. 20.5 gr H110. 1383 FPS. Yup.
PLEASE NOTE: do not use my load data for your gun. Please do your own research on loading for the .45 Colt and your firearm. This load is pretty much guaranteed to blow up some .45 colt revolvers.
 
Sights?

I read through about.. 150 pages of this and was wondering what the consensus was on baby carbine sights? So far this is my idea for my eventual 357 Ranch Hand:

1. Boyd full stock (Winchester 94 PRE-64)
2. Skinner Barrel Mount Peep Sight
3. Skinner Front Sights (.650" Tall)
4. Steves DVD Action Job Kit
5. Rossi 92 Tool kit

I've seen a lot of people talking about the open sights and very little on the skinners. Are they a solid enough choice or is there something a bit better? (Any opinion on the Steve safety peep?)

Could you fit a shorter stock? Seeing as the rifle is already under 26" overall and you would not be modifying the barrel. The rifle would still require two hands and have the exact same operation.
 
The Rossi Ranch hand is already short! Most of the people here make it longer by adding a rifle stock. As long as you don't make it shorter than it came from the factory you are good to go!
 
The original buttstock is so short that it's probably useless. Can you shoulder it and get a sight picture? If not, why not cut it shorter?
I understand the interest of using a full rifle buttstock. But if you don't need it, can you cut it shorter?

Careful with the above statement folks,I bought the top '92 carbine in the picture for the butt-stock and the lever. When I put the smaller lever into the Ranch hand it was an instant jam, and when the large loop went into the carbine it cycled smoothly until you tried to feed a round, it wouldn't lift the cartridge elevator high enough and cause a jam.
I would have had to have fit one or the other by adding and removing metal, not worth it.
What little info I could find by scouring the 'net seemed to say hit or miss on lever interchangeability.
I'll just bite the bullet and re-shape the existing large loop, the rifle is already ugly as #### and paracord can hide a weld pretty good.
Anyone shelling out cash on a small loop lever to swap just be aware of this.
That large loop is the only thing keeping me from carrying this rifle in the mountains. I find it terribly slow and awkward to cycle with the full stock.
