Holy mother of ***! Nice rifles! I have been wanting a 338LM for a while now and have been trying to decide between a Sako TRG and another build by Sean. I think you just made up my mind!

I would love to see a range report when you get a chance.

I gotta be honest the first time I saw the newer AX chassis it did nothing for me ... but those boomsticks are BEAUTIES there JayCarver ... well done! Two thumbs UP!

Really nice looking twins. Twins, Basil Twins! Although one looks slightly more busty than the other.

Now serious question, with the oversize lugs did you have to machine the AX chassis? What size lugs did you use?

When I first saw the AX I thought it was butt ugly, after awhile it grew on me and once I got to spend some time behind one I found it more comforable than a A5, all tough they look really akward the AX is very ergonomic.

I can't remember what the thickness is off the top of my head but I believe the 338 has a 1/4" lug and the 308 isn't quite as thick. I can measure them later if you want the exact numbers. The AX has a ton of room for a thicker lug, even with the 1/4" lug there's lots of space left over. However I did have Sean mill some off the bottom off the lugs as there isn't enough depth for the oversized lug in the AX chassis, again I don't have the measurements off the top of my head but I do have them written down at home, if you need them let me know. The AX did require some of the trigger area relieved for the Jewel trigger.

What would something like that cost ballpark?
