Wild boars in Alberta?

Vermillion has them I hear. Very tough to hunt and don't taste good. Feral pigs actually.
Someone will be along soon to dispute this statement I'm sure.

Boars can make terrible meat depending on the circumstances of their demise. Ive only ever shot a big sow personally. She was delicious.

Saskatchewan, Eh. ? According to our government , you are responsible for our province being overrun with them. Propaganda aside, you'll have to hunt pretty hard and be lucky to find them, very localized.

I spent some time looking for them this spring. I think Alberta's population is not out of hand. I think a weekend spent souting deer, elk, moose or shooting at the range will keep my freezer fuller than boars.

dont waste time in the mayerthorpe area, locals are pretty tight lipped / wont let hunters on property because of cut fences gates left open etc , i'm making a scouting run out to vermillion soon ,see where them pesky critters are hiding
i also heard they are around sangudo

Nothing directly around Vermilion. South of Manville(20k east) a bunch escaped the colony a while back, as well as around Marwayne. No ones apparently knows where they hide...

If u do happen to get one and are u doing field dressing, be prepared to be smothered in a "gelatin globule like fat" when u gut it out....

Yes, usually leaving McDonalds with a bag full of quarter pounders! Often by means of a motorized scooter.

Russian wild boar are great eating. Suggest you get the hams double smoked.
