I don't reload yet, just researching. I'm probably gonna order a Thumblers tumbler and use stainless steel media. id like to de-cap my cases first. Lee offers a dedicated decapping die but they say its not recommended for 17-20 cal. Has anyone used this on 204 or is there other options available?

thanks,

I have a lee decapping die it say one size fits all cases need not be cleaned or lubed in the instructions I payed 16.00 for it at gun show in spring

I am on my 7th reload with some cases in 204 and not one of them have been tumbled. The de-prime and neck size die work well after fire forming. Just my experience.

Not really at all. Went to the range last night and shot 1/2" groups with some of my test loads. I keep the neck clean and FL size when I feel it is needed but that is it.

Based on the price tag what you could do is buy one and if it's to large for the 204, remove the decapping rod and put it in a drill press or lathe and use some 300 grit sand paper to make it smaller.

If you order from titan reloading you can get a second decapping rod in case you mess it up.

^ agree, just turn the mandrel down if it doesn't fit the neck.

Or a simpler option is to just use the the neck sizing die or FL die you plan on reloading with and adjust it up so it decaps without touching the neck or body.
