What have I got meself into?
This gal had a penchat to follow me home today.
One owner and a tad ruff 'round the edges.
Some photos fer yer consideration.
Any idea of age and history of this old gal?
Model number?
Leupold VX II on it as well.

Updated.....
I took the gal all apart and cleaned her up.
Oiled up the stock as well.
I found the receiver serial number did not match the serial number on the barrel.
Parts of the barrel number were engraved on the bottom of the bolt handle.
Is this non matching normal or has this gal been re-barreled?
Also found a few notches in the bottom of the rear wood.
This gal has been mischievous.

What do you want that old klunker for? Looks like a waste of 'Looky gun storage space!! I'll help you out this ONE time and take it off your hands and store it here where I have ample room for such unwanted relics.... I'll even pay the shipping.....once.....

Well now, eye dun give it sum thought........
Then looked at your list.
Didn't see it there............S.O.L........Laugh2

Where's that moose rid'in chap............?

Oooohhh Teeeeeeeeh..id.................

I believe that's a model 1622, which would put date of birth in 1962. I've seen lots in 6.5x55, .30-06, and quite a few 9.3's, but that's the first 7x57 I've seen. Just a little jelous right now.

That's an interesting find Looky, nice rifle.
I had an identical gun for many years, same scope mounts and glass, actually the first three digits of the s/n were the same.
My one and only complaint concerned the slow barrel twist ( 13" ) as it would not shoot the heavier bullets I wanted to use.
Any bullet heavier than 140 gr. would simply keyhole and my old BSA 7X57 has a 10" twist, it will shoot any weight of 7mm bullet with acceptable hunting accuracy.
Aside from that, the Husky is a fine, well made and fitted rifle.

Can't be a 1622, as it's a 22LR ONLY.

As pointed, and without picture of the whole stock, I'd say a 4100 too. S/N places it in the first serie of these to hit the N-A market (the steel triggeguard / floorplate is also a giveaway) end of '55.
Barrel lenght must be 520mm (20.473").
The caliber, while not "rare" is "very desirable". As pointed by Kevan, the slow twist (being 1:12" or 1:30cm) may not shoot heavy bullets so well.

So I take it eye did hokie dokie then?
Frack,,,,,,,,,,,,she's fluffy.
I will clean her up today and get a few better photos.
The fore wood is schnabled too.
The lenses are rough.
Needs to go into Leupold.
What do I tell them?
It would be a shame to end up with a new scope?
Decisions decisions..............

I have one of those in 30-06 that my great uncle had bought at the end of the 50's. He never shot it and gave it to me when I turned 13. Beautiful gun, kicks like a mule!

I had one of those that started life as a 308 until Prairie put a 30-06 Douglas pencil barrel on it for me. It wound up very light and did have impressive recoil. That is a great caliber to have that rifle in. Have fun loading for it.

Husquavras tend to be very accurate rifles, Yours was probably built in the 50s. Ive got one in 270. and no money could buy it from me. Good find
