I have been looking for a 22 scope that I can use for both long and short distances-adjustable paralax.Dante's in Montreal has the 4-12 x40 Legend with this feature-has anybody used one and if so what is your opinion?

I have 2 first generation legends, a 2-7x32 on a .30/30 and that very scope you mention on a .22 mag and i may try it on my .204. I also have a 4-12x40 ao elite 3200 and can't really tell a difference. Before the first gen legend was discontinued, they sold for quite a bit more than what Dante's wants.Buy it and it will do fine.

yes,I just ordered one-and they have a lifetime guarantee so it should be ok.I do some 25 yard shooting with CB Longs and some at longer ranges-a scope that works for both would be nice.I have a martini 22 and a mossberg 42 m that are very accurate, but with my eyes,I have to use a scope now[the days of going ''up on the bench''in Maple Creek ,Sask in the early 60's and decimating the gopher population with a single shot Cooey with iron sights are only a fond memory now,as was the farmers daughter...oh well...]

I own a Hawke 4-16 x 50 with side parallax. It is absolutely
Phenomenal, crisp, clear, fine reticle that lights up
Red and green if you want it. (Just the small centre dot in a mildot). Was $309 shipped. I like it so much I'm sellin my bushnell tactical 6-24x50 off of my .204 and putting another hawke on. So many nice features and lifetime warranty.

Do the Hawkes come with a duplex reticle as an option or are they all mil dots? Not a big fan of mil dots on a hunting rifle.

They have some cool ones. Just check out their site. They have duplex some BDC ones and a few customized mil-dots. I am not a huge fan of mil dot either but the crosshairs are perfectly sized with the dots it's just a treat. Check out their site.
