Just finished putting together an AR and I'm very happy with how it turned out. It's simple and light and hopefully accurate.
Spikes upper
Daniel Defence BCG and gas block
S&J 16.5 inch barrel with approx 100 rounds down it.
PWS triad comp
Samson Evolution 15 inch handguard
Stag lower with Magpul trigger guard, MOE stock and an Ergo grip

I also have an ATRS 18 inch stainless heavy barrel that I was going to put on it but I think I might wait till I can afford a matched upper/lower from ATRS for it.

Can't decide if I want to put a set of MI BUIS I have sitting in the parts box on it or not. Might be a good idea until I replace the fakepoint but I want to keep it simple and as light as possible.

I'm not saying how much I have into it because I got some really good deals and if I ever sell it don't want to get a pile of lowball offers ;)
There are a lot of people out there that always want new prices for their used stuff but if you keep looking there are great deals here and there.

Looks good! I really like that handguard.

I'm trying to source everything I need to build a lower now. I'ts going to be a cheap build just to see if I like AR's! But I have everything but the lower parts and stock/buffer stuff on it's way so I guess I can take my time to see what's out there!
 
I'm sure you will like AR's. It's a great platform and you can customize it any way you want without replacing the whole rifle. I have 2 PWS piston AR's and had 3 DI rifles before this one but I sold them after I got my PWS's, was itching for something new so grabbed a lower I had sitting around and sourced all the parts for the upper off the EE.
The handguard is awesome. I am really happy with it. It's light and only has the rail down the top, it came with 3 shorter rail sections I can attach anywhere at 3,6,or 9 o'clock but I don't think I'm going to need them.
I'm going to shoot it with the PWS triad before trying my Rainier Arms mini comp and see which I like better.

Nice build! What do you think of piston AR compare to DI? I know there has been many talks (love vs hate), but where do you stand?

I found something on the EE I want more than another AR, I already own 2 piston AR's and this is my 4th or 5th DI rifle.
Didn't build to sell but it just worked out that I think I can get enough cash out of it to take a large chunk out of the newest shiny object that distracted me :)
Prices are my business, just because I got a smokin deal on some items doesn't mean I have to pass that along. I still think it's a fair price for the quality of components I ended up with. You definitely couldn't build one with new parts at retail prices for what I'm asking. Plus I'm open to reasonable offers if your interested ;)

I love them both
Both are great rifles, the piston puts less gasses in your face while shooting and is less work to clean. The DI may be slightly more accurate and has less parts. The accuracy is hard to judge since they all have different quality barrels in them.
As for the claims of a piston rifle running cooler I think the heat is just in a different spot. My PWS piston rifles heat up the handguard and the DI rifles heat up the BCG and receiver.
Both are very reliable and I've never had a stoppage that couldn't be explained by either not enough lube or a physical issue that I should have caught and fixed prior to shooting like an improperly seated mag or loose gas key on one I used to have that wasn't staked properly.

All depends on the components used.
This one I just finished is very light for a 16.5 inch but I think it's because of the light (M16) profile barrel and the Samson handguard is also very light.
I've felt other 16 inch rifles that felt much heavier. Quadrails add weight and so does throwing useless junk on there like lights and lasers. Variable power scopes also increase weight quickly.
Stick with the plastic handhuards if you want it to be light weight.

I am very happy with how it turned out, but I already own 2 other piston AR's and have owned many DI AR's before this one. If I had an unlimited bank account I would keep it and just buy my new toy but since I don't really need 3 AR's and my other 2 are PWS piston rifles this is the first one on the block. If I don't get a reasonable offer I will gladly keep it and be happy playing with it when I go to the range.
I'm not selling it because I hate it, I'm selling it because I need money.

I must have missed the section in the rule book that says you have to keep a rifle for a minimum amount of time before you sell it.
If it makes you happy I'll try to get to the range on Friday and I'll run a couple hundred rounds through it. Then am I allowed to sell it?

Check my feedback, I don't sell junk. Whoever buys this is buying a great rifle that should give many thousands of rounds of reliable service.
Lots of guys build rifles and sell them almost immediately and lots of guys buy complete rifles and sell them with no rounds through them trying to make a profit.
I got good deals on the parts and put it together intending to have a lightweight rifle I could give 3-gun a try with and now I need some cash for something else.
What difference does it make if I build it and sell it a day after I finish it or keep it for 6 months then sell it with 800-1000 rounds down the pipe instead of 100? Oh ya, I'll get less money for it.

And why would I give a price breakdown? Who's business is that besides mine and the guys I bought the parts from? I'll quote the new prices if you like and it will add up to more than my asking price especially when you consider the time invested and shipping costs. If I get my asking price I'll be making a little money and still giving someone a good deal.

No, I just meant that this is a sickness we're all in… It was nothing personal, it's just that it's a sickness like I said we all change and I find myself wanting more and more and more and different guns every freaking day!! So, anyways how accurate is this gun?

I'll try a few different loads to test accuracy if I can make it to the range Friday. I also put together 10 different handloads to test in this and my Swiss Arms. Been working too much lately. Stupid work has been getting in the way of my play time lately.
I'll post results here when I get back from the range unless it sells before that :)
