OK everybody, I have looked for a thread on this with no luck.
I am leaving town for two weeks and will be storing all my firearms, including two restricted, with my brother in law. He has his RPAL as well as secure storage.
The law states I am allowed to lend qualified people my restrict firearms so no problem there.
My question is do I need an STATT ? My plan was just to meet him at our range for a few hours then when we are done he just drives home with my firearms and stores them while I am gone. Same idea for when I get back.
The above seems to meet the laws requirements but am I missing a critical detail that could spell trouble?
If this topic has been discussed somewhere on this forum please point the way and thanks.
I feel like I may be over thinking this but with our laws it pays to be current, informed, psychic and paranoid.

Thanks in advance.

I would say call CFO monday as he may need to get a borrowing permit to transport them.

WTF you talking about willis?

There is no such thing a "borrowing" permit.

And to the OP, yes this has been discussed hundreds of times and there is no real answer and depends largely on what your ATT actually says and what his says. Just get a Short term and be done with it.

Well its funny you say it doesnt exists, i guess the Ont CFO didnt issue me one 2 months ago then.

A friend of mine was waiting for his LTATT and he wanted to try out his M&P. I called the CFO in Ontario and was issued a "borrowing permit". This allowed me to drive to his house, pick out his gun drive to the range then back to his place. Maybe you guys do things differently out west? Maybe its a form or STATT? Who knows, but anyways thats what she called it.

Probably a STATT. Your ATT's in Ont. are more gimped than the western ones. Never heard anyone use the term borrowing permit before since your rpal already allows you to borrow.

Call 1800 731 4000 ext 7503 in Ontario, takes about 5 mins on the phone. They will give you a permit # and your good to go. Just borrowed my buddies 2 40's for the weekend. Now if only LTATT 's were that easy.
