I feel it is remiss......IPSC Ontario Shotgun Provincials

Great match indeed! Karl designed really nice stages and EESA crew did a great job at the match. With electronic scoring it was really nice to hear results right after the match!

PS: I have no clue how I managed to win my division, because I totally did not deserve it...

The key is to screw up just a little less than everyone else ;)

A skill I have clearly yet to master based on my placing :(

In all seriousness though, a great inaugural championship match with fun, challenging stages. Congrats Karl on a fabulous match!

Kudos to Karl and staff putting on a great match.

What happened to the scores? They were up this am but I don't see it anymore.

And nice to see that I didn't come in last, even after being bumped to open from standard manual. lolol

Protip to everyone, check how much your extended tube holds before the match. When I first installed my tube it was only able to hold 8, now somehow a 9th round can fit in there. It was suggested that maybe my spring has gotten more wear and is accepting more rounds.

I'm surprised you didn't notice, an 8 round tube is two quad loads, which you do quite well

Unfortunately he exceeded division capacity at the start signal.

I agree with Onagoth, Brunobell's reloads were very smooth.

Haha! You need to learn how to count as well just like me! I got bumped into Open as well.

Oh, and I need to learn how to aim as well.

So you got bumped because you had more than eight in the mag tube before the start signal?

Seeing that I got slotted to open as well, I can chime in here. On loaded starts, and for most of the shotgun matches I've shot, I've always loaded from my belt at the MR phase. I load up 9 into the tube, then chamber one (for 8+1) as standard manual division allows for up to 9 shells on loaded starts, then proceed to top up my caddies with the RO that is holding my box of shells. It's a routine :)

On one stage, we pre-loaded ourselves (safely), then at the MR phase I for some reason chambered 1 round then topped up my tube. Doh! I didn't realize I was at 9+1 at the MR phase. I shot the stage then was advised was now in Open. :)

The match was damned fun nonetheless!

Thanks. I need to work on getting a firmer grip pulling them off the belt, sometimes I end up with a 1x3 stack in my hand instead of a 2x2.

Re the slug stage: I did load from the belt. But when I topped up at the shooting box, for some reason something inside my head said "Try and put two in, so that you make sure that the tube is full" I just assumed that I must have dropped one at the loading table and didn't notice. Which I thought was also weird. The thought that the capacity of my tube changed could have changed never even crossed my mind.

Anyway, had a great time nonetheless!! Can't wait for the next one.

Sidebar: I was running a 24" barrel, I noticed some of you run the 18.5" barrel on your Benelli's with the ghost sights. Is there a big difference in patterning? For example, I know that at 25 yards with a 7.5shot I get about a 12" pattern on target with a modified choke. Is that consistent with what you guys shoot?
