So I have been having trouble with cases jamming into the reshaping / decapping die on the up stroke in stage 1. It seems like every one in 20 or so are not staying in or are coming out of their spot in the shell plate slightly. I just pull the shell back into place with my finger and it works.

Anyone know why this is happening?? It is annoying and I cannot figure out why it is occurring.

Mine will do that, albeit not quite as often but i find (I think) that I cause it bye either not pausing at the top of the upstroke and/or initiating the downstroke (with the handle) too fast. either way when I smooth out that small part I seem to do better. if you find another fix I will also try that.

See I should read slower when I have only had one cup of coffee - missed the stage 1 comment. Out of habit I tend to put light pressure on each new shell inserted until its about half way up on the stroke. I have damaged a few cases over the last 15 years from not doing that.

I sometimes have that issue doing .38 sp. on my 650. Near as I can tell it's usually an irregularity in the rim, although something getting wedged under the cartridge as it feeds might do it too.

If your station one locator is dirty or poorly adjusted, this may happen. The camming pin has to allow sufficient horizontal movement of locator to push case fully into shellplate. If your brass rim is damaged(or Glocked), it may cause a problem.

SOLVED. I tightened the baseplate main bolt so the baseplate just turns. I have the needle bearing upgrade so it rolls smoothly with very little play now. I made 100 rounds very quickly with zero stoppages.

glycerin. I also believe I was getting a few "glocked" cases. Cannot avoid those though :D My brother shoots Glock and we recycle brass and reload together.
