I know its kind of a specific question but im building a powder storage box and I want it high enough to fit 8lb containers, would someone be able to measure a container and post the measurements?

thanks gunnutz:cool:

8 lbs of what? I have an 8 lbs jug of Varget that it 10 1/2" high and an 8 lbs can of IMR 4895 that is 13 1/2" high with the pull out spout up. Make ot bigger than you think you may need, no self respecting so called gun nut would only have a few 8 lbs cans of powder around:p

A four litre bleach or soap jug will hold eight pounds of just about anything. If you want to be absolutely sure, use four litre milk jugs.

8 lb of H4350....11 high x 5 wide x 8 long...i brought them measurements to the nearest inch....these dimensions will give you about 1/2 inch clearance total

In the old days, it was called a keg of powder. That was 8 pounds. The brits had a fascination with the number 8 for some reason. Every measurement was a multiple of 8 or a number that was divided evenly out of 8. It's all through the british imperial measurements. Eg, an acre is a rod (8 feet) by a mile.
