selling a non-restricted firearms

i havent bought or sold any rifles in years and im just wondering how i go about doing so. Do i just need to keep a copy of the buyers pal?

No.
Do you have any reason to believe the buyer doesn't have a valid PAL/RPAL? Yes/No.
If no, get cash, hand over gun (assuming non-restricted). If yes, don't sell to this person.
