I finally found a box of 160 gr 7mm Nosler Accubonds and when I opened the box this is what I found.
The white stuff is from the tips that came off in the package before it was opened by me. Its like that white grease crayon you use to mark tires with.
I think I will forward these pics to Nosler and see what they say. It seems its just the two out of 50.
Never had problems with Partitions.

Gee...I have 3 boxes of 180g in .308 I haven't opened sitting on the shelf. Now I want to check them.

Interesting..... I have about 10 boxes of Accubonds that were purchased within the last year, .277 to .323, I think I'll open them up and have a look!!

I have had numerous Accubonds do that in .338 in 225 grain. They kept breaking off in the magazine under recoil in my .338 RUM. Ticked me off to no end.

That is a different issue.

These are not just broken off tips, they have not been properly rinsed and it is like the tips were eaten off by something acidic. I was given an explanation a few years back from the Nosler rep but forgot exactly what it was.

You can see the stain on one of the bullets in this pic:

I had the same problem last year with 338 caliber 225 Accubonds I was taking to Africa. I believe it cost me a Kudu. I shot at the Kudu at about 150 meters over a solid rest and missed totally. I brought the same lot of ammo home and tested them at 100 and 200 meters. Missed the targets completely with 3 shots in 2 boxes of ammo. This is with a rifle and scope I was doing a scope box test to determine if I had a scope problem with the ammo. Most of the other shots would shoot 3 rounds mostly within 1" at 200 meters. The scope tested perfectly but 3 rounds totally missed the targets.

Will never use tipped bullets again for important hunts!!!

It happened to me in an old style box dating 4-5 years old. I shot the round and it was as precise as the other at 100 yards.

This is the response from Nolser.

Go ahead and send photo and a photo of the box showing the lot#, it should be near the Bar code. The remaining ones should be fine to use. Avoid the really loss ones for hunting. Also include you address and phone. I will send replacements.

They stand behind their product, good to see. :)
