I wish I were allowed to bring along my .357 to the hunting camp this year. It seems so stupid that we are not allowed.

So, did you send a copy of this sentiment to your Member of Parliament?? If not you are just preaching to the choir and nothing will ever change.

You can't hunt with any restricted firearm. Nothing new about it either. Been crying since 1978 that I can't hunt with my M1 Carbine. The really stupid part is that in Ontario, at least, it's perfectly legal to hunt upland birds with a .357 look-a-like air pistol.
If you really want to hunt with a handgun, book a hunt Stateside. Last I heard, PA allows non-resident's to hunt on 'game farms' with handguns. Wild pigs, as I recall. And not a canned hunt. Not cheap either.

Can't shoot restricted anywhere other than a CFO approved range. Sucks 'cause it would be cool to go plinking on that hunt camp during downtime.

What is even more retarded is not being allowed to discharge your restricted firearm on your own property, even if you lived at the North Pole.

LOL, well, we all know that a 22LR from a pistol is WAY WAY WAY MUCH more destructive than a 1oz slug or 00 Buckshot from a 12ga shotty. Think of the children!!

What Boo said. We use to have the right to hunt with a handgun. The Liberals took that right away back in the 70's.

While at the camp, what would you use that .357 for?

Target shooting, person protection for when he cannot keep his rifle on him 24/7...finishing off an animal or even hunting WITH the .357Magnum.

I've shot pigs down south with a .44Mag...as long as your steady and a good shot, its not hard.
