Best M14 Scope mount in 2013?

I agree, the ARMS 18 is the lowest traditional mount, but Badger Ordnance EBR rings used in
conjunction with a SAGE stripper clip guide mount and a railed SAGE hand guard is even lower.
Probably not an option for many in Canada though.

do you have more picture? please :)

i have ordered Sage M14DCSB Detachable Cantilevered ... do you prefer the SAGE stripper clip guide mount ? or the Detachable Cantilevered ?

thanks

And for forward mounted long eye relief optics, the Ultimak handguard is super low and bulletproof solid. Haven't played with the m14.ca handgaurd yet so can't compare
Vltor's casv rail set up looks pretty killer too. Played with one or two but haven't used one yet.

I will have new pictures as soon as I decide on the scope I will use. I love the simplicity of the stripper clip mount, but the DCSB is more robust.

BTW, I sold my original NSG EBR rings to USNGM2sw over on the M14 Forum ... THE RESULTS

I've used both, the SHG from M14.ca is lighter than the M8, and it fits without touching the stock like the UltiMAK sometimes did.
Also, the SHG fit my standard SEI barrels without modification, this was not the case with the M8.

Good to know info, thanx ;)

Arms 18 with Arms 22 removable rings , Garand rear sights :D

And I will sneak this in for best front rail mounts....Ultimak M8 and Bushnell TRS-25

Installed the CASM Gen II on my Norinco. Have had it out to the range a couple times and it has worked flawlessly. The staff at m14.ca are helpful as well. The only knock is the mount didn't come with the needed allen keys. Forced me to finally go buy a set for my gun kit so no harm no foul.

CASM genII extended. It replaced the ARMS18 mount which would cause empty casing jams. I trimmed the springs, put in a GI bolt, cut out the center with a cutting disc and grinder, all the things to make the ARMS 18 not cause jams. The CASM solve the problem. It puts the empties in a area I can grab them beside me and not forward of the firing line. I used the CASM mount this weekend and got my come ups out to 500 yards with no issues. Fired about 100 round with no scope mount jams like the ARMS 18 mount. Jams in Service Rifle cost points.

It's nice to see that they made the casm out of steel. In the beginning, many of us got berated pretty hard for suggesting it as a superior alternative to the aluminum version.
I might even have to give the steel version a try :D

I 'm surprised at the amount of praise for the pro mag mount. With mine the threaded inserts that are in the rail were sloppy fit, the screw that goes into the dovetail is too small and the mount was not square to the receiver.(not an issue with the receiver, had arms 18 and springfield gen3 fit like a glove). With quite a bit of work I got it on but its coming off when I get back around to fiddling with my m14.

When I had M14 type rifles, I prefered the Smith Enterprises mount for scopes, and the KAC M14 RAS for forward mounted optics........The ARMS mount wasn't bad, but I liked the longer rail the SEI mount offered...........

CASM Gen II, the Promag one works, but if you have a Norc i might not fit perfectly, and you get the odd case jam.

Frank at m14.ca makes some amazing gear, and it all looks amazing and is LIGHT which is a big plus for these rifles.
