Thinking of an AR

Looking at dipping into the black pool. Rifle will be used for 3 gun matches only. I would like to keep it under $1500, without optics of course . Just looking for thoughts and ideas for now. Thanks
 
You can't beat the prices on the NEA's....I'm happy with my NEA, but there are plenty of haters out there.

There seem to be almost no differences in quality between the $1000 AR's and the $1500 ones. You have to spend around $1800 plus tax to start jumping up the brand names it seems. I'd suggest going with something right around $1000 plus tax and spend any money you've saved on ammo and magazines. SFRC has an awesome deal on right now for a case of ammo for $200 with the purchase of an AR.

Same here, but I'm looking at an 'original' style AR such as the DPMS A2 classic...Open to suggestions..??

I personally would not put a $300 trigger in a $900 gun. I'd sooner spend $1200 on higher quality rifle.

OP, if you're looking for a reliable rifle that will get you into 3-gun matches, look into: Spike's, Stag, Daniel Defense, BCM.
You can find guns by these quality manufacturers for a little under, and a little over $1500.
 
Armalite... I bought one used off the EE for 1000 and it came with irons so it was ready to go, it is the most solid and reliable rifle I own, hundreds of rounds down the pipe, the majority was Chinese and I've never had a single malfunction
