Ok guys I know I posted today already but I am a Newbie and learning so Bare with me please guys , This question has bugged me all day long and I can not find any answer on the Forms about it . What are the Odd's of me getting my PAL licence ? I have never been to Jail I am not sick what so ever I do not suffer from Depression what so ever , when I filled out the application I checked all No on the major questions and when I phoned them the first time the woman told me I filled out every thing correct . Am I worried for nothing or do I have some thing to worry about . I have worked so hard for this studied learned all the types of Ammo out there and learned all the safety stuff , and my references are there to support me 100% .

"...Am I worried for nothing..." Yep. The whole licencing and courses nonsense is strictly to make getting into the shooting sports as expensive in time and money as possible so new shooters won't bother. Otherwise it does nothing. Go join a club.

I cant join a gun club cause I do not have my PAL licence .

yep, don't sweat it, we all did the long wait.

that's interesting, I didn't have to prove I was a gun owner, or that I even had a PAL in order to join either of the clubs i'm at..... you can (usually) be a member without a PAL, it makes no difference to them, obviously you just wont be showing up with your own guns is all.

What are you on about?? Presumably you passed for CFSC stuff & you've jumped through all the hoops - just forget about it for 2 or 3 or 4 months (varies a whole lot). Get on with the other stuff in your life.

Really though, proclaiming the fact that you are free of mental illness and criminal history on the internet isn't going to help. If your statements are true, you passed the safety course and your references support you owning firearms, then you will get a PAL license. It will take up to 6 months though, perhaps even more. Speed is not a strong suit with the CFC.

Under the circumstances you told us about, I think the odds of you getting your PAL is pretty much about 99.99%. The bigger question is whether it'll take 5 weeks or 5 months. There's a thread here on the site about making sure your PAL gets approved quickly...hunt that down, distill the advice. Basically I think it involved making one or two confirming phone calls to CFC.

If you've never had problems with the law or mental, never threatened anyone...I think it's likely difficult for the CFC to deny you, and if they do for no apparent reason, then it becomes a human rights issue that a specialist lawyer (one that can do firearms) might be willing to take up. But it shouldn't get to that point.

That's wired when I did ask the VP of the gun club I will be joining he said I needed a Valid PAL licence to join the Club that's what he told me .

I don't know about waiting 6 months for your PAL when I am hearing people get theres in 2 to 3 months tops I think it verys on the person everyone is different .

Some clubs make it their policy to only take people with valid PAL's, because they've already been checked out.

Thanks Rick , that's all I needed that sounds about right cause for me I never been to jail nore have I ever had or have a mantel illness I am perfectly a normal person and I think I am just worried cause before I even did the 2 courses I was doing my homework on firearms like how they work so when I go to the firing ranges I will know the science behind a gun .
