Im wondering if anyone has an experience mounting a eotech holographic sight on a pump action tactical shotgun? Im curious if it would be an effective sighting system on that platform.

If your willing to put out the cash for a eotech id suggest a aimpoint if you want a cheaper option their out there as well. But my money is on a aimpoint I use one on my deer shotgun don't even notice it on there and I can still use my front bead just fine.
Make sure you consider your stock when using optics on a shotgun most will leave you needing a chin.

I've got an EOtech on my UTAS and I love it, although I never tried an aimpoint on it so I may love it more who knows. :D

Eotech works perfect if you can get used to the top heaviness. The ring and dot combo make it fast (for me), but I keep going back to T1.. or nothing... shotguns with good irons are just as fast/precise at optics, but much more rugged and lighter weight.

Aimpoint PRO would work too, but in my opinion the best RDS for a shotgun is the T1/H1 setup...

A good friend of mine runs a bushnell trs-25 on his mossberg spx 12ga and it holds up great. Less than $150. Save some money and buy more ammo :D

Im thinking it might add too much bulk. Im not really concerned with weight, but size can be restricting. I might just get a tritium front sight and save some more money for ammo.

It doesn't weigh that much guys. Seriously...

The REAL issue is that you've probably still got a low tube and that's gonna be a little odd with the height of the eotech. Get a high tube adaptor if you're running tall optics. I run a cheap as snot reddot that holds zero after 100+ rounds of mixed slug, buck, bird.

That said, I like thr reddot vs ghost rings for substantially faster acquisition. If I wasn't running a high tube and red dot, I'd want a bead or blade site with low tube, all day long.

I have an EoTech 552 on my KSG. Works great.
Are you guys serious about it being heavy? If the weight of a red dot pushes the weight of your shotgun over the top for you I suggest you visit the gym once in a while.
As far as I'm concerned a little extra weight on a rifle or shotgun is welcomed as it reduces recoil and makes it more comfortable to shoot.
