Anyone know when boyds m1a stocks will be coming on sale?
Just guessing but since July 4th is coming up has to be soon
if anyone see's them post a sale piece want to spread the word
would love to have one of those stocks for my norinco

Boyds has done a great service for hundreds of canadian M14/M1A owners. Excellent service and returns ect.
Couple years ago they errored and shippied garand stocks to a bunch of guys and jumped thru all kindsa hoops to arrange the timely exchange for the right stocks. With a border in the way, they did a bang up job of sorting that mess out for dozens of customers.

My magic marble teLls me I'd be keeping 100 n change at the ready as my marble says in about 3 or 4 weeks ;)
Seriously though, as said elsewhere, the sale usually happens around july but all we can do is guess and hope LOL
Quality product, fantastic business, easy to finish yourself, generally with "Hey man,,, nice fricken rifle!!" results ;)

Ya pretty much the only reason I was asking when they usually come on sale is exactly that set a little money aside that the wife doesn't know about for a new stock
im still guessing it will be close to the end of the month
as this cheap plastic norinco stock isn't really my style in anyway shape or form
thanks guys

According to Boyds website they cannot ship packages with a product value over $100.00 outside of the U.S.

Not withstanding any sales or specials they may offer are you guys ordering the finished walnut M1A stocks or do they provide unfinished stocks in order to keep price below $100? If so, what are the best products to use to finish the wood?

What extent of alterations are required to ensure a proper fit with the M305?

I just ordered a complete Springfield M1A walnut stock (including all hardware) from Brownells ($241 plus taxes and shipping). Pricier than Boyds yes, but it's finishd, complete AND available for purchase!

I did the same thing a few weeks ago only to receive an email a day later saying I had to get a state dept. Permit, export permit, etc., etc.
I canceled the order. I was not impressed as I had asked them before ordering if it was cleared for export. Clearly they have dropped the ball again in your case. Sorry for the wet blanket news.

hmmm...hoping that's not the case. The only thing they said I had to sign was a declaration stating that it was for personal use and that I wasn't going to resell it.

It is an M1A stock, afterall, not an M14 stock

LOL an end user certificate for a hunk of wood??
My gawd the US Gov has their heads way up their azzes. That's just stupid.
More and more I wish we had wayyyy more Canadian manufacturers... It would be nice to be able to not even have to buy from south of the border
