You have not mentioned it but have a look at the Henry survival .22. semi and and very light. I have never seen on but, someone on here must have one and could let you know its pros and cons
Mossberg 715T..Super light, cheap and easy to use..Thy're known for FTF and FTE issues, but i haven't had any issues with mine as long as i'm using the right ammo.
That was my other thought, the adjustable stock on the Mossberg might be the ticket if your friend doesn't mind the tacticool look.
