Hoping you guys can help out....I've shot a G34 for a while now and love it, but looking to get something good for IPSC production. Also want to use it for 3 gun and possible IDPA production as well.

So far I've considered

CZ SP-01 shadow (honestly, with all the positive reviews I don't know how to don't have one already)
CZ SP-01 shadow line
Stock II
Stock III

The stocks don't make weight in IDPA, which is a drawback for me since I do shoot sanctioned matches from time to time.

Any advice? I've have different people recommend all three, am I missing any different guns?

Truth be told, had CRAFM had the shadowline in stock, this thread probably would not have appeared. But since there is a delay, I figure I should flush it out a bit more.

I'm also considering the extreme models for the stock II & stock III, but might depend on price.

Have you considered a CZ 85C (Combat)? I've seen excellent used pistols on th EE.

shadowline is totally worth the money over the shadow since it just has a bunch of bits on it you would put on yourself anyways

I LOVE the stock II, did a whole big review on it and man is it a nice gun. except I really didnt like the trigger, it wasnt garbage but it wasnt anywhere near the shadows trigger, way more mushy and had stacking and yea. now that was the original stock II trigger and not the ones that they currently ship with (yes they changed) so the new ones might be better.

I shoot both the Shadow and G17 in both sports. There are pros and cons to both in each.
The 17 leaves nothing to the 34 in my opinion,so if you like the 34, the 17 is a good bet.
If you use the shadow, keep the Glock as a back-up for when the CZ packs it in at a match.

Have you considered CZ SP-01 Tactical?

If not, why?

Cheers,
Dan

Will the shadow line get a separate approval on the list/

To my knowledge, its just a shadow with production approved mods already made to it

I have a g17 as well...but the trigger is well below 5 lbs now, and the sights aren't ideal

I was looking at the rules for this, and pardon my ignorance if I am wrong, but aren't you OK to swap the sights with any other open sights and still be ok for production?

It's in the IPSC FAQ

8. Can I replace the original 3-dot sights on my Glock 17 with aftermarket 3-dot fiber optic sights?

Yes. You can use any open sights. See Point 17.2 of Appendix D4 in the January 2012 Edition of the IPSC Handgun rulebook.
