Lever Arms sale on SKS and SVT40

I just got one of the sks's today. greasy as hell, but it does have a beautiful stock. service was less then impressive, he tired to tell me that I couldn't fire the gun until I cleaned it. and then said his shop is 60 bucks an hour and it might take a few hours to clean. I thought total BS. but whatever. gun is in decent shape, in the middle of cleaning it and will take it to the range on Friday.
they are right, you should spend a few hours cleaning out the cosmoline out of the sks, before oiling it and taking it to the range.

Lever Arms.... Ill never set foot in that store again, unless I absolutely have to. Too bad considering its 2 blocks down the street. Ive had nothing but HORRID customer service from them, its like they dont want you in the store at all. They have been rude to me and my friends when they have asked some questions about one of the many guns they have hanging on the walls, they make me show my PAL before they even open the glass to see the guns, they make ME get my crate of ammo from the back, instead of them getting it for me after I pay, they try to sell me on larger purchases when I ask for something small, they record my personal information for any purchase, I usually stand at the counter for 10 mins before they ask me if I need help, and they were unwilling to give/sell me ONE round of that surplus crap with my purchase, just so I could see if it was corrosive or not. Lets see, anything else... oh yea When I pulled in the staff was outside having a smoke, the look of disgust on their face they saw I was going into their store, and they had to put the smokes out... WOW. AND, 2 times now Ive asked for slugs at the counter, only to be abruptly told they dont have any, I ask for buckshot- dont have any, he tries to sell me on some expensive sabots, I ask him to check the rack, he looks at me like I just asked him to jump off a bridge, he goes and check, OH LOOK WHERE DID THESE SLUGS AND BUCKSHOT COME FROM... I hope they crash and burn. Just had to vent. I hope one day the owner sees all the shi**y reviews, but im sure he doesnt give 2 sh**s about it. Lever Arms is a perfect example of how NOT to run a business.

They are not a sponsor here so people are aloud to bad mouth them . ;)
If they were a sponsor people would not be aloud to bad mouth them .
I'm sure this thread will get locked or disappear soon as we are not suppose to know about deals from non sponsors . :D
lol

This is the main issue with the forums that get's on my nerves. It may cause me to turn away from the forums one day.

I thought we lived in a country with free speech? Was gonna get a 1950 SKS to add to my collection and a CZ 455 10 round mag for the Norinco JW25A but the shipping alone on the little 22 mag was $15.00! Could they not have shipped it with the rifle? [ which is $25.00 to ship ] Moderately reasonable I guess. I just shipped a box of x12 t-shirts to B.C. AND IT ONLY COST $7.00! Did call to ask to see if they had any 49 ones but they were cherry picking as we spoke and anything good would be priced accordingly buddy said. Seemed like it was a chore to talk to me tho.

Boy that sounds exactly like hole sale sports in Calgary. Had precisely the same experience .

Weather it's corrosive or non corrosive, people should always clean their guns properly after shooting. Don't blame the ammo, blame the person whom owns the gun and neglects to clean it after shooting.
Well the cleaning regimen for shooting corrosive involves dissolving salts with some good old h20.

I'm not in the habit of soaking my firearms in water, then blowing them dry, then spraying them with wd40 to displace any left over water, then blowing it dry again, then lubing it like crazy. So I buy non corrosive and I pay a premium.

The problem is when a store advertises it as non corrosive, then charges non corrosive price, then you ruin your rifle because you didn't apply the correct cleaning regimen because you didn't know you were shooting corrosive!

Don't feel bad they treat me the same way. At first I thought it was because they had some hate on French Canadians at first but now I know it's everyone. Never setting foot in there again. they can rot in their bankruptcy! ROT AWAY fackers!

Yah I've had some major issues with some site sponsors, and for some reasons other people absolutely love and write love letters about them on here. So don't necessarily trust it when somebody says a site sponsor is great, but I'd definitely trust it when someone says a store is a pile of poop.

Even cheaper than that!

Heads up for folks in Windsor Ontario, my bro just picked up an SVT40 for 240$ at Canadian Tire on Walker road. Mosins for 139$. Happy Happy Happy.

Hey anyone know what kind of shape the svt40's are in from Lever?

They are really nice, and barrels are great shape

Side note: people will still keep going there for the great prices at the end of the day. I know I will, and if they give attitude, they will get some in return, but they will never turn away money, I always get a thank you after each purchase. Don't really care if I do or not.

Never had anything but "good enough" service from Lever, and to be honest when I can save 40 bucks plus the cost of shipping by picking up an SKS there, I don't care if they say Hi or Goodbye! At least there's no line ups because of all the hate for them, but they usually have good prices and I don't need to wait two weeks to receive my order if I'm planning a range/ crown land adventure the following day.

I can sacrifice bad service for cheap prices on surplus rifles.
However when they decide to record your PAL, address, drivers licence #, and birthday(all for NR purchases) its a different story.

You are like me you go to the store and buy the product. You have done your research and know what you want. I get a kick at some of the comments in this thread. Most people do not need to be lead around by the hand with a sales person whispering sweat nothing in their ear. Lever has the best prices in town right now on a good product, why pay more for some so call quality product.

Well despite what I heard about the service I couldn't resist getting a SKS for $159... that's friggin cheap!

Here's my new SKS after a good cleaning, my wife had a gleam in her eye when she saw and and said its a very "pretty gun" LOL. I bet we'll argue about who gets to shoot it first

I bought 100 rounds of Ammo, 5 stripper clips and a trigger lock, with taxes out the door for $236 you can't beat that anywhere in North America I bet

This was my first time purchasing from Lever Arms and I have to say, it wasn't rude service but it was pretty lackluster, like they'd rather be doing something else, but for a deal I could care less I guess... but I won't be going there if the price is the same somewhere else.
