Well in my research of carbon fiber barrels I've come across the Proof Research barrel manufacturer and their carbon wrapped barrels. Gotta say on paper it seems to be pretty impressive stuff and prehaps something that I'd look to a build in the far future. Lightweight, durable, match stainless liners, and is supposed to shed heat faster than traditional materials. Very appealing with a bull barrel profile and a rifle you can build to be less than 10lbs after optics.
^ Really try that with any traditional material and I'd think you'd experience more than just a POI change. Of course POI shift is expected when you pull off and put on a barrel anyway, it still grouped afterward. I put that vid in the black rifle forum but I think it may have better appreciation here.
AFAIK Alberta Tactical can bring in these barrels, if any other forum sponsors can feel free to add them to the thread.
