Anyone using the norinco stuff with their Kriss? I was going to order a case but thought I would get some feedback first.

There was a thread with this info about 4-6 months back. Lots of people reported issues with it an the Norc ammo. YMMV of course.

Yea, I searched but only found one or two people mentioning it. All I hear is it's dirty so it looks like I'll be ordering a case.

It's reliable and accurate, most find it's a little hot compared to other .45, but all agree it's pretty dirty. Personally it's the only factory .45 ammo I buy, it meets my needs fine.

Andrew.

if you pay 2000 for a gun you should never worry about the ammo you use in it. it should fire every thing!

You probably think that because it's $2000 it should also be a sub moa gun as well? Maybe in dream world.

There are lots of rifles and pistols out there that cost as much or more that are picky with ammo. You can have 2 rifles with consecutive serial numbers come out and like different ammo. They should shoot any Factory spec ammo but in reality they don't. Some won't cycle what others will and some just get crappy accuracy with something another does really well with. This is the same reason most people who handload don't share recipies but instead just tell you their components and a starting charge. What works best in one rarely works best in another.
If you go on the Kriss website there is a list of ammo they recommend for the Vector. I didn't try that many different types but I know mine shot Norc, American Eagle as well as UMC fine and I had 3 handloads that all cycled well with 200gr JHP.

I found the Vector to be a really cool rifle with a great design but got bored quickly and realized it didn't fill any gap in my collection so I sold it.
I was able to hit a 12 inch plate at 200 yards with open sights about 3 times out of 10 with it though which I thought was pretty good.

owned a vector and put around 750 rounds thru it. only problem I ever had with the thing was norc ammo. using norc I had a failure to fire at least 3 times per 10 round mag. primers struck every time but no bang. every other type of .45 I tried put thru the kriss went flawlessly. I also know another kriss owner who had a problem with norc but didn't know it. he always had issues with his having failure to fire. he kept bringing it to the place he bought it and they could never get the thing to malfunction in any way. finally he sold it and then I find out he was using the ammo he got with his pistol from can am.

im not saying this is the way kriss/norc are. other members have no problems with it. these are just my experiences with them. I would advise getting a smaller amount like a box or two and put them thru your kriss to see how yours likes it.

Works great in hand guns.
Works ok in Kris's.
Works like crap in JR-45 carbine.

I think it's just as dirty as blazer .45acp ammo.

Thats like saying a Ferrari or a BMW M3 should take any kind of gas. I only ever fired remington and american eagle through mine and never had problems. Certain guns like certain ammo. Buy off the list that Kriss recommends, thats my advice.

So using that logic you should be able to run 87 octane fuel in a Ferrari?

Hey it's a $300K car. It should be able to use any fuel.

HAHA, I had not read the whole thread before posting. Looks like we both had the same thought, lol.
