Canadian sources for Boyds stocks?

The new dress for my baby just arrived and looks gorgeous. Should get my babies back tonight and will post pics once they're dressed again! So a little over a week from the CC-rape to having your baby in hand. Had to pay $26 in duties and brokerage, Canada Post now accepts CC payments.

Well, this was weird... The hardware kit seems to have come with a single wood screw, trigger guard and a plate that seems to be identical to the old one. The existing Allen-head screws from my Mk II G are too long for the application and I had to put 3 washers on the front one and a single washer on the rear one to give it a snug fit (the screws were bottoming out and the fit was wobbly). I'll have to spread out the pieces of paper and see if there's another baggy with screws in there somewhere. Am I missing something?

Ok, so I never got those screws, but never got charged for them. Just ordered "the hardware kit" when I was ordering the stock.. Does anyone know the thread/pitch and apropriate length so I can source a proper replacement locally? I don't care if it's Allen-head as long as I don't have to use a stack of washers for one and a single washer for the other.

I'm going to order barracuda magnum research stock ASAP this week ... if anybody's in the Toronto area and also wants to order something we could split shipping, duty etc , let me know
thanks
Keith

All I remember is its some strange thread pitch that isnt common at all.

I'd be up for throwing a few bucks your way for shipping (plus the cost of the parts, of course), just wanna confirm what I need from Boyds. Thanks for the offer!

Ughhhh they are telling me they don't even sell them for some reason. I might need to cut a couple of threads down and hopefully not ruin the screws.

Edit: Any tips for doing this without messing up the thread? I know typically, I'd use a nut to chase the threads after cutting/deburring but don't have a #12-24 nut.. Thinking of just using the belt sander to grind them down to length and doing the final cleanup/beveling with a file.

I have always just used a hacksaw to cut small bolts then angle the edges around the cut on a 45 angle with a sander, no messed up threads at all, had to change out a couple screws on my mossburg 500 on the safety cause the stupid one way screw they put in. I Grabbed the stainless screw i think at home depot or crappy tire, and im sure you could get a nut there if you really needed to.

Well, my baby is fully dressed... Needed to shorten the front screw by 1/4" and the trigger guard screw by 1/16".. Belt sander and some light filing, worked perfectly. Gave them a dab of blue loctite just in case.

They do make nice stocks.I have one on my marlin 60,and remington 7400 and I love the look of them now.Wish I would have waited for the $500 maximum though cause I had to order forend and butstock seperatly for the 7400 and pay shipping twice and couldn't get the checkering done cause it put the price over the $100 limit.

Definitely love the look and the ergonomics. Will need to buy slimmer profile ear protectors though.. Not able to get a good cheek weld and look down the scope at 12x magnification with the ones I recently bought to replace the water-damaged Caldwells.
