Cheap but good autoloading tactical 12 gauge?

I have found a deal on an MPA I just cant refuse so im going to go that route. Almost half of new for one that is essentially new. For my first test run of a semi I cant really pass it up. If I like running a semi, ill look at upgrading. But for my first go, it seems like the cheaper semis are all FAIRLY equal.

Great find, don't forget to report back ..congrats

whos learning what? huh?

Sorry, just razzing ya (see emoticon) for the re-statement of the obvious. :D If we could put more than five in our tactical semis, the "point" would be for competition style shooting, e.g. three gun, etc., so we could compete more closely with the pump actions. Until then, we will have to wait for someone to design a 10 round tubular magazine for a handgun that fires 12 ga. ;)

Picked up the gun last week and will be shooting it tomorrow. Definitely only fits 4 in the tube but I haven't checked for a plug. I'll do that tomorrow. Feels a bit rough (compared to a well worked in 870) but functions perfectly by hand. Not crazy about how the stock looks, but it fits and feels very good. I'm going to attempt to modify an 870 stock to fit at some point.

Mine fits 4 in the mag and 1 in the chamber no problem.

Sounds like mine used to be.
It's interesting that some of them will accept the full 5 rounds out of the box.....must be a difference inside the mag tube cap that is allowing the extra little bit of length needed?

What would you like to know about either shotgun ?

I own both !

For shooting low brass and cheep target loads both guns cycle them just fine - My reloads are rated at 1100fps.

Ive over 8000 rnds on the MP-A alone.

Both shotguns have different things that I like and dislike.

ie: The 930 has no tube lockout feature that the MP-A and the Benelli has. The MP-A cant be ghostloaded etc etc...
Complete BS!
I have proved it wrong 2 times already:
For looking on how to trick out your MPA check out this post here:

Well, I ran the gun today and it didnt perform as id hoped. It was great with slugs but had trouble with the cheap target loads I shoot most often. Actually, problems would be an understatement. It wouldnt eject even ONE round. I had to run 15 rounds through and every one was an stovepipe with the hull stick halfway out of the chamber. Had to pull it out and rack the charge handle to chamber another round.

Now I realize I could fix this by running some hotter or higher brass loads but the gun has to work for ME... and I run the cheapest ammo I can (that way i can actually afford to shoot... ) and this gun doesnt like it. My 870 has no trouble with it and is %100 reliable so im going to just stick with that until the day comes i can afford a higher end semi.

FWIW, it ran 2.75 slugs like a champ and was SUPER accurate at 20 yards. The sights are absolutely AWESOME... Someone should sell these seperately. They rule. Action works well when its working. Not complicated at all. I HATE the feed ramp. That 2 stage deal is a pain and the ramp spring is ultra stiff. I think it would be possible to learn how to run this gun quickly, but its definitely not as easy as others.

My buddy already bought it from me, so im happy I got to try it and the rounds he buys seem to run great in it. So its going to be a great gun for him.

Was it the cheap slugs you had issues with or shot? I'm right on the fence, but would probably only use it for slugs.

That's what I figgured! So in ther words it would be turning your shotgun into a prohibited shotgun! Great idea!

Not if it will hold 5 (only) of the longest shells it's chambered for - ie space for 5.9 x 3inch shells is perfectly legal, if that translates to 6 x 2 3/4, that's fine. So 6 (2 3/4) in the tube 1 in the chamber and 1 on the carrier would be legal.

The slugs ran great. The cheap target loads with low brass were what gave me issues. I have a video of both but they are HUGE so im tring to figure out how to downsize them so I can upload to youtube.

You really think that's gonna work with a co?

Mine did the same thing the first day out! Wouldn't cycle the target loads at all! So a ran about 3 boxes of various high brass hoping to break it in a little!
Took it home gave it a good clean and OIL!! Next trip to do some shotgunning it ran the low brass no problem and has continued to ever since! Hundreds of low brass shells later its running perfectly!
