I don't see the point of putting a +anything mag tube when there limited to 5 by law!
I have found a deal on an MPA I just cant refuse so im going to go that route. Almost half of new for one that is essentially new. For my first test run of a semi I cant really pass it up. If I like running a semi, ill look at upgrading. But for my first go, it seems like the cheaper semis are all FAIRLY equal.
Learn something new every day.![]()
whos learning what? huh?
Is it legal during competition?
The law does not make any distinction.
Mine fits 4 in the mag and 1 in the chamber no problem.
Complete BS!What would you like to know about either shotgun ?
I own both !
For shooting low brass and cheep target loads both guns cycle them just fine - My reloads are rated at 1100fps.
Ive over 8000 rnds on the MP-A alone.
Both shotguns have different things that I like and dislike.
ie: The 930 has no tube lockout feature that the MP-A and the Benelli has. The MP-A cant be ghostloaded etc etc...
Well, I ran the gun today and it didnt perform as id hoped. It was great with slugs but had trouble with the cheap target loads I shoot most often. Actually, problems would be an understatement. It wouldnt eject even ONE round. I had to run 15 rounds through and every one was an stovepipe with the hull stick halfway out of the chamber. Had to pull it out and rack the charge handle to chamber another round.
Now I realize I could fix this by running some hotter or higher brass loads but the gun has to work for ME... and I run the cheapest ammo I can (that way i can actually afford to shoot... ) and this gun doesnt like it. My 870 has no trouble with it and is %100 reliable so im going to just stick with that until the day comes i can afford a higher end semi.
FWIW, it ran 2.75 slugs like a champ and was SUPER accurate at 20 yards. The sights are absolutely AWESOME... Someone should sell these seperately. They rule. Action works well when its working. Not complicated at all. I HATE the feed ramp. That 2 stage deal is a pain and the ramp spring is ultra stiff. I think it would be possible to learn how to run this gun quickly, but its definitely not as easy as others.
My buddy already bought it from me, so im happy I got to try it and the rounds he buys seem to run great in it. So its going to be a great gun for him.
That's what I figgured! So in ther words it would be turning your shotgun into a prohibited shotgun! Great idea!
Was it the cheap slugs you had issues with or shot? I'm right on the fence, but would probably only use it for slugs.
Not if it will hold 5 (only) of the longest shells it's chambered for - ie space for 5.9 x 3inch shells is perfectly legal, if that translates to 6 x 2 3/4, that's fine. So 6 (2 3/4) in the tube 1 in the chamber and 1 on the carrier would be legal.
The slugs ran great. The cheap target loads with low brass were what gave me issues. I have a video of both but they are HUGE so im tring to figure out how to downsize them so I can upload to youtube.
